Has anyone purchased the 30 day Fun in the Sun Pass? It looks like a great deal for our 9 day trip coming up in February. I was wondering if anyone has ever had a problem with this...

Kathy

I am wondering the same thing. From the mention of it at mousesavers.com, it sounds like "buyer beware". I would like to hear some stories from people who have actually used it.

I am not familiar with the "Fun in the sun" pass, but I am definitely thinking about buying our park hopper plus passes from Paramount. Not only are the passes cheaper , but each 6 or 7 day hopper plus pass comes with a free character breakfast voucher. For our 8 passes, the savings really adds up! I have been reading up on the posts about the company, and it seems that everyone that has used them had positive things to say about them. I have called and emailed Paramount several times with questions, and they have been very prompt and courteous with their replies.
I did contact the Chamber of Commerce in Orlando, as I was concerned about reading on Mousesavers that they were not members. They did assure me that not all businesses choose to join the Chamber of Commerce. They gave me the number for the Better Business Bureau to check if Paramount has any complaints against them.
I will post on here as soon as I call them this morning

Keeping my fingers crossed.....

We also planning on purchasing the FITS pass. It is absolutely the best deal for us, and believe me, I have crunched the numbers every way possible! We will be there for 14 days, and would like to do DQ at least once, and maybe BB if the weather is warm enough. The breakfast voucher is an added bonus!

There have been posts on the budget board by many who have successfully used Paramount in the past. I believe the only negative I've seen is the recent post from the person who had her luggage stolen and wasn't able to have her b-fast vouchers replaced, though fortunately she still had her tickets.

As I understand it, companies have to pay to be listed with the BBB, so I guess it's their choice to do so. Annie, I look forward to hearing what you find out. We're also a bit nervous to shell out lots of $$$ (especially with the buzz that this pass is only for the overseas market...).

I just contacted The Orlando Better Business Bureau and they have had no complaints against Paramount. Great news!!!

Can someone tell me what the Fun In The Sun pass consists of? I searched the site but can't seem to find anything....

Thanks!!

Annie

I can tell you what I know. It's good for 30 consecutive days of admission to the 4 major parks, the 2 water parks, Disney Quest (which is NOT covered by a regular "plus" feature on the PHPs), the sports complex (I think, but we won't be going there), as well as some other smaller attractions in the central/south Florida area. Sorry, the only one I remember of these is Kennedy Space Center, because we may do that. The others seemed pretty obscure to me (no Universal, Gatorland, etc.), but that's my opinion. I understand the breakfast vouchers also come with this pass. It seems to be the best deal for someone who plans on 7+ park days, and plans to do the waterparks and/or DQ at least once, AND will not be going to Orlando again within a year.

Thanks for posting what you found out about BBB. We are going in Dec. for about 14 days and at this point are planning to purchase the FITS pass. Don't remember seeing when you are going, but I will be sure to post our experience when we return.

I got the following prices from these boards, this year. I haven't called Paramount to verify if they are correct, however, or still current. Adult=$311, Child=$251 (age 3-9). This includes tax, but there is a shipping charge of $15 per order (not per ticket). If someone has new figures, I'd love to know!!

Thanks! :D

This ticket is not shown on the website, so you need to call and specifically ask for it by name. I'm hoping it's still available in a couple of weeks...

This is what I found on Mousesavers......

30-Day Fun in the Sun Pass
The Fun in the Sun pass, which is not available at the park gates, is good for unlimited admission for 30 consecutive days to the following:

the four major Walt Disney World theme parks
the Disney water parks
Pleasure Island
DisneyQuest
Disney's Wide World of Sports complex (sporting events requiring a separate admission charge are not included)
Kennedy Space Center Visitor Center
Salvador Dali Museum
Edison-Ford Winter Estates
Miami Seaquarium
Everglades Safari Park
The pass also includes one Character Breakfast voucher redeemable at selected Walt Disney World restaurants. It is a multi-day pass, so it includes access to the Disney transportation system.

The 30-Day Fun in the Sun pass is intended for sale only in certain countries, including Germany, The Netherlands and Australia. You can purchase the Fun in the Sun pass at major travel agencies in those countries. I'm told it is not supposed to be available for sale in North America, but there is an outlet that is selling it to US and Canadian residents (see below).

This pass is an excellent bargain for those who will be visiting Walt Disney World for longer than a week, since the price is only a little more than the cost of a 7-Day Park Hopper Plus purchased at the theme park gates.

Hmmmmmm.....Is it legitimate to buy in the U. S. ?

The FITS pass is suppose to be good for 30 consecutive days:

the four major Walt Disney World theme parks
the Disney water parks
Pleasure Island
DisneyQuest
Disney's Wide World of Sports complex (sporting events requiring a separate admission charge are not included)
Kennedy Space Center Visitor Center
Salvador Dali Museum
Edison-Ford Winter Estates
Miami Seaquarium
Everglades Safari Park

Since it is only suppose to be used for overseas visitors, I fear that I might be out of luck when I go to exchange the vouchers at Guest Relations.

I would love to hear from people who have used it. :hyper:

O.K. Guys...... I am thoroughly confused here.....The price for the 30 day FITS pass is listed as $311 for adults. Why would anyone even bother with a 7 day Park Hopper Plus? The FITS pass is a much better deal......which brings me back to the same ole question.... Is it legitimate???? Out of curiosity, I called WDW and reached a wonderful agent named Rodney. He put me on hold and called Guest Services. He claims they know nothing of this pass !!!!!! If I'm going to buy 8 of these passes, then I surely want to know that they're allowed....

HELP !!!!! :crazy2:

Here's what I know...The 7 day hopper plus can be used for any 7 days...it does not expire. So if you use only 6 of the days, you will be able to keep the pass and use the last day on another trip. The FITS pass expires 30 days from first use, so even if you were only to use it for 3 days and then have to cut your trip short (for example), you'd "waste" the rest of the value of the pass.

As far as the legitimacy of the pass...several people here on the DIS have actually used the pass (we need to hear from them...;) ). It is not sold by Disney, in other words, you cannot purchase it onsite. My belief is that the FITS pass is a ticket that is marketed to a foreign market, and that Paramount does major business as a ticket broker in that foreign market. I don't know for sure whether or not it is not to be sold in the U.S. or just not *marketed* in the U.S. I do know, based on what I've read here, that Paramount has sold these passes to U.S. citizens living here in the U.S. and these folks have used the passes successfully.

I completely understand your concern, especially if you are buying 8 passes. We are planning to purchase 3 adult and 1 child's pass. My DH said today about the concerns with the pass, "Well, we'd only be out a thousand bucks" LOL!!

Thanks Local Girl..... for all of your information. I guess all we can do now is wait and see if anyone will speak up and tell us about their experiences with these passes. I also posted on the Theme parks forum also, hoping to get a response.

I know DISers have successfully used the FITS passes and posted about it in the past. Hope someone sees your threads soon.

I bought three 30 day fun in the sun passes from Paramount. We are going to use them in Dec/Jan. We will be at WDW 16 days and love all the options offered with this pass. We bought 10 day world passes from Paramount last year and they were great too. We will continue to use Paramount.
