I will be staying at the Paradise Pier resort when I visit Disneyland in July. Never having stayed at this resort before, I am curious as to what I'm in for. The pictures look awesome!!! But I would love some imput from former guests of this hotel. Did you enjoy your stay? Is the view as stunning as it looks in those photos? How did you like the hotel themeing?

All opinions welcome.

Thanks for the reply, those photos sure looked stunning! I stayed at the Radisson Main Gate on my last Disneyland visit 3 years ago, Paradise Pier looks to top that by far.

I stayed there a couple of years ago. The staff there is better than the staff at Disneyland hotel. But I had a wonderful time. You will enjoy it.

I love the PP - the rooms seem larger then the GCH - the decor is nice (a California beach theme) and we thoroughly enjoyed both of our stays there :cool1:

We have stayed at all three on-site hotels and like all of them for different reasons. The worst thing about the PP is the walk. It is the furthest and quite frankly a longer walk than many off-site hotels. The best thing is the view. I have stayed at the best view room category in each hotel, and to me, the DCA view, upper floor room at PP is superior to any other. Plus, the rooms are large, couch bed is very comfy, service great, and we love the beach theme. I think you will be happy there:thumbsup2

We have only ever stayed at PP and we love it. Our last trip we had a room with the park view and wow! The beds are comfy, the staff is great, the pool is like heaven at the end of the night, the gift shop is awesome, and you get to shop in DTD all the way back to your hotel at the end of the day.

Love the PPH here too! The view of DCA at night cannot be beat. The service and Mousekeeping are both excellent. The rooms are clean, light, and airy and the beach/Disney theme rocks! :thumbsup2

I liked it. I stayed there in October and it was great. Hotel was clean and the housekeepers took good care of us. We didn't have a park view but we weren't even in the hotel that much. Pool is nice too. Good hotel for your money!

make sure to find the shortcut through the GC. It knocks a lot of time off of the walk.

I was just going to say that same thing! Cutting through the GCH is great for when you are going and coming from DCA and the monorail stop in DTD is about a five minute walk and will take you right into Disneyland. So there are shortcuts. I don't find the walk bad at all. Maybe 10-15 minutes up DTD depending on how fast you walk.

I really like Paradise Pier. The rooms are nice and I like the beach theme with the Disney touches added in. The sofa makes into a very comfortable twin sized bed for a very nice third bed option. All rooms have that. Its nice not to have to mess with a rollaway and its more comfy than the daybeds at the DLH. The pool has that amazing pool slide. I would also second the theme park view room. Our first visit we didn't get one, the second one we did and what a difference. It was so fun for my kids. We took our binocculars and they would just stand there at the window each morning looking at them getting the park all ready for opening.

I highly recommend it especially given its the least expensive of the three onsite hotels.

I suspect it's less expensive due to the afore mentioned walking distance. I love the idea of walking through DTD on my way to and from DCA/DL. Kinda reminds me of my stay at the Royal Pacific during my visit to Universal Studios Florida. Water taxis would take you from your hotel to Citywalk were entrances to both Universal theme parks could be easily reached. Sounds like I'm in for a real treat!:cloud9: :thumbsup2

Yes, I really love the walk up DTD and when I stay at both the DLH and PP rarely take the monorail. We enjoy the window shopping and the music they play over the P.A. in the mornings. In the afternoons and evenings they always have live muscial acts along the way. (Always on the weekends for that and all nights during peak times.)

Have a wonderful trip and enjoy your stay at PP!

We stayed at PPH for the 1st time in Feb and loved it. The room was spacious and clean. We had 2 queens with a couch. We loved the beach theme and enjoyed ourselves immensely here. We were lucky to be upgraded to a park view and it was spectacular. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pool slide was fun even though it didn't connect to the pool. And you can even watch the fireworks at DL from PPH's hotel pool. They pipe in the music from "Remember". I think you'll have a great time staying here.

I'm glad you posted this thread. We are staying there at the end of the month. It sounds like we made a good choice. I'm getting excited! :cool1:

We booked the least expensive room. Has anyone ever gotten a room upgrade at PP at an off-season time? I read about doing that in The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland. I just wondered how feasible it would be.

we stayed there back in 2001 and I loved it. had a park view of Paradise Pier I even saw the electric parade from my window. My only complaint was no laundry facility there. I like to pack carry on only and wash half way through the trip.

I pack carry-on only, too! I just bought something at the store the other day to take on our upcoming trip. It was travel sized Tide packets made for sink washing. I'm sure I'll have to use them.
