I have reservations at Hojo's for May. With the new promo 5 for 3 I can stay at the Paradise Pier for $100 more.

Worth it?

How far is the walk to the Monorail to get into DL? I know I can use my room key to get into the backside of CA...any other perks?

I've never even walked over to the PPH. Still thinking about moving over....

Totally worth it for the room, the early entry, the toiletries, sending purchases back to the hotel, etc,. There was a similar thread to this about Candy Cane vs PP and Sherry did a nice post on the reasons to do PP. Also, you get a cool upper level fireworks view and music by the pool.

FYI - they closed the DCA PP entrance due to the DVC construction at the GCH. You have to enter DCA through the GCH guest entrance. Still easy and you get your commute time in that hotel, too!

I totally agree with Yellow Mickey Ponchos!!! Well worth the $100.00

The walk to the monorail (in my opinion) from PPH is shorter than walking from Hojo's to the entrance plaza. We normally skip the monorail in the morning and cut thru the GCH to either DCA or DL (via DTD).

I've never been to either but someone her eon the DisBoards suggested that I get the entertainment book to save $$ on HoJos. I am staying there in May for $59 per night! I think it's a deal that can't be beat - especially since the entertainment book was only around $20 and has tonnes of great discounts in it!

for details go to entertainment.com

Thank you....that's it for me. I just changed reservations from Hojo's to PP!

Anymore perks I should know about?

With staying at any of the Disney hotels, you get the early morning entry! I didn't see anyone mentioning that. :goodvibes

What about $500 more?

Good question... Will the extra $500 break the bank and take away things that you want like character meals or shopping??:confused3 If not, then I would say yes, go for it and stay on site... I love MM entry and that is one of the main reasons why we stay onsite.

We have a trip planned for May 29-June 3rd. We were going to stay at the HOJO but the Ent. Card rate isn't available (we did have the AP rate though). When the promotion came out we switched to PPH and added an extra night for less than $100! We also booked the package through Costco so we get a $20 gift card as well as a free Character Meal!
We love the HOJO and stay there often. But since our AP's expired last week we are taking advantage of this great package deal and then will be upgrading to AP's while there! :cool1:

The entertainment rate wasn't available for me either...that's why I questioned the move over the PP. I'm excited because it's a great deal!

We haven't been to DL in 8 years and my son has never been. The extra $500 wouldn't break the bank but, I like to save as much as possible.

Raquel, it probaby depends on where your other reservation is. Is it at Hojo's? How old is your son? Hojo's has that fun splash area for kids, right next to the hot tub, so you can relax while he plays.

I would not spend $500 extra to stay on property at Disneyland if I had a room at Hojo's. But I'm fairly budget minded. :)

I haven't booked anywhere yet....weighing my options. Looking at 8/4 - 8/10 for myself & DS11. It looks like I can get HOJO for around $800 plus $360 for tix. I looked at the pkg for PPH and it was around $1600 (give or take a few bucks). Does anyone think I do better than either quote? Any other accomodations that are within walking distance???

As I said before I'm pretty new to DL so, all the help I can get is REALLY appreciated. I know DW like the back of my hand (not quite but close). Were leaving next week for DW and I'm still arranging the itinerary for that. I think I'm just a worry wart!!!

Please help DL Gods...:worship::worship::worship:

Id go for the PP, the early entry and the such... That and you can stay at a HOJO anywhere in the USA.

YES! Just one more reason to change...similar thought, I used to tell my teenage girls we weren't going to the nearest mall either...we can always shop at home.

Raquel, did you use the Mouse savers discount for Hojo's? I'm sure the Disney hotels are wonderful, but I'm not sure they are $500 more wonderful. :) Staying onsite at Disneyland is not nearly as important as it is at DisneyWorld.

Early Entry is great, and I use every day that I can, but since your DS is 11, I'm not sure how many days of Fantasyland you will need. :) When I enter the park on an EE day when I can't get in early, I can immediately go to Adventureland and it's still a good time. I don't think the EE mornings are worth $500. Certain days of the week there isn't EE for anyone!

There are other places within walking distance. I think there is a sticky thread that talks about them. Hojo's is the furthest of these. But Carousel, Camelot Inn, Best Western Park Place Inn are some that are closer. Tropicana and Fairfield are two I have not stayed at that are also close.
