Paradise Pier Superthread

Can't wait. 9 More days. We are staying at Paradise Pier again. We have stayed there 4 times now. Have not even tried the other two hotels. Love this one.

Just booked our PPH room tonight for 4 nights!! So excited as we have never stayed on site but wanted to treat ourselves this year. Booked Concierge Park View and really looking forward to it ! :cheer2:

Enjoy!
I have never stayed onsite, but plan on it this year. I got AP for 1 year and plan on going three times. I am going to try to stay in all 3 onsite hotels this year (I'm doing shorter trips so I feel like I can splurge).

So excited! We're going tomorrow. It's been years since I've stayed at this hotel and can't wait!

So, at the other hotels, they let me check in and check my luggage then go to the parks for EMH the day I arrive. Does PPH do the same? I am assuming so, but don't want to be disappointed.

I called the hotel yesterday to make inquiries, and the reservation agent said "LOTS of people" check in at an early hour just to get their room keys so that they can take part in EMH, because we need to do EMH the day we check in if we want a DCA EMH.

Just back from an amazing trip to DL/DCA and a wonderful stay at PPH June 27 - July 3. I am so glad that I gave PPH another try after our disappointing trip in May.

We booked a standard room and this time we were on the 11th floor overlooking the pool (room 1113) not where the garbage was like on our last trip (room 1039). The only time we heard noise from the pool was on our last afternoon when they had some sort of dance party at the pool...it was something that was going on at all 3 Disney hotels because we had walked back to the PPH through GCH after leaving DCA...as we passed the pool they had the dance party going on with hula hoop contests etc...it looked like the kids were having fun. We are glad it only happened on our last day because every other day we were able to take a nap in the afternoon when we headed back to the room for a rest and to get out of the heat.

I know now we will be back to PPH, I will just make sure I have my little map of the hotel room locations when we check in and make sure we are not near where the garbage pick up area is.

I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have about PPH.

That's great that you enjoyed your stay at PPH. It sounds like you were there for the promo of Teen Beach.

I'm feeling super excited right now...I just called Costco and changed our reservation for our October trip from the Embassy Suites (which we've always stayed at and love) to Paradise Pier! I've heard really bad things about the new shuttle service at the Embassy, so we looked into renting a car but then with the parking charges at the parks and the hotel it started to add up...did some fuzzy Disney math and my husband happened to mention "What's it going to take to get to stay at a Disney hotel?"

So...a little web surfing later, a little realizing how nice it would be to just walk back to our room after the Halloween party and fireworks, etc...and how easy for our son's afternoon naps...and then when we remembered we get EMH every day we were sold!

Thank you Fuzzy Disney Math!

We always stay on property in Orlando but could never seem to justify it in Anaheim. Somehow, we just did! Hmmm...if we're already staying there it "just makes sense" to book Surf's Up breakfast, doesn't it? So much fun! Loving looking at all the pictures and can't wait to check in!

If you're flying into SNA or LAX I recommend the Disneyland Express shuttle service. It's not free like it is at Disney World but it's fairly inexpensive, maybe 25-30 round trip per person. And you get the complete Disney Immersion when you get picked up at the airport by a huge coach with Disneyland graphics all over it! We got the Sleeping Beauty coach when we arrived and the Cars Land coach when we left!

I'm excited to be staying at Paradise Pier from October 6-12, 2013. This will be our first stay that this hotel. Last time we stayed at Disneyland Hotel which is beautiful. My travel agent noted in our reservation that it is my mom's first trip EVER to disneyland so maybe we will get a upgrade to a room with a resort view. Either way, I'm excited about the Early Morning Entries and being close enough to come back to the room to rest up for MHP.

This thread is so helpful! My best friend and I are planning our first trip to Disneyland for May 2014. We are going to book a concierge level theme park view-50% off cast member, so it's really pretty affordable. Cheaper than concierge in a standard room at AKL or WL at WDW for the same week!

I do have one question that I don't have an answer for. In a concierge room with two queens, are there two chairs for that little desk thing, or just the one? I saw a photo of a king room that appeared to have a bit of a different layout and it seemed there were two chairs. :goodvibes

We'll be there too!!! Arriving at PPH on the 5th to the 9th, MHP on the 8th. We loved PPH when we stayed in April!

I think the rooms are the same you just have CL amenities, so the answer would be one chair for the desk. There was also a couch that was very comfortable to hang out.

Those are our dates as well--counting down:yay:!

I think you will love the PPH(It's our favorite on property hotel).

We're staying oct 7-13 too! Soooo excited! First time staying on property, celebrating my daughters sweet 16 bday and her friends 1st trip to DLR ever. Wahoo!!! We have an overnight flight that has us landing 6am the 7th at lax. Anybody have any experience with early check in at PPH? Crossing our fingers for an upgrade too although not counting on it, of course!

Mahalo!

We just booked Paradise Pier for May 2014. It's our first time EVER to Disneyland, I'm so excited!!! We're staying 8 nights and celebrating our 6 year wedding anniversary. Our Disneyland trip is 230 days away but I'm already planning and reading all the posts on here.

We've checked in early numerous times, and only about twice has our room not been ready(we haven't checked in at 7:00am however;)).

If your room isn't ready, have bell services hold your luggage, maybe grab something to eat at the "Surfside Lounge", and head on over to DCA.

There is Extra Magic Hour at 8:00am on the 7th, and you'll want to be through bag check and in line about 30 minutes before DCA opens, so you can maximize EMH, and get to the rope hold for Carsland, to use the "wide right" technique(if Radiator Springs Racers is a priority for you).

Have a wonderful trip!:)

I booked PP not way stoked because I wanted the DLH but at least it's a resort stay. Can't afford the DLH anymore.

That's too bad.

The Paradise Pier Hotel isn't the Disneyland Hotel, but it has its own charm(and like you say--a cheaper price tag;)).

Go in with an open mind, and don't continually compare it to the DLH, and I think you will really enjoy your stay!:)
