Paradise Pier Superthread

Hi

does anyone know if they have a kettle in the room as well as the coffe maker? We drink tea and would like to make our own in the evening. (Aussies!)

Thanks

Just run the coffee maker without the coffee in it and you'll have a nice pot of hot water for tea. Might need to do it a couple of times before consuming to eliminate some of the coffee taste. We do this for tea, hot cocoa, and instant oatmeal!

The resorts in florida all have places to get food and drinks and I am hoping to get tea for at night. or, I can bring bags and do the above.

I just love this thread.

1 week to go . :woohoo:

Staying concierge at Paradise Pier this week. If anyone has any questions let me know and I'll see if I can find answers! :)

They sell Twinings tea in the Surfside lounge but it was very expensive- they just give you hot water and the tea bag. Next time I will take my own tea and just use the coffee maker for the hot water. They also sell cartons of milk in the lounge.

Have fun! :)

You can bring your own bags if you want. I found that Whitewater snacks over at the Grand Californian has the best mini grocery store items. They have various different teas and some grocery store items.

Some pictures of the Concierge Lounge and food offerings (particularly for lunch/dinner) would be great!

By the way just got back from three nights at PPH, had a great stay but never once got wifi on any of our devices to work in our rooms.

We were there for Tink weekend also. I got it to work on Friday but after that it was too slow. I could get onto facebook and stuff but I never could load any pics.

That aside, we really enjoyed our stay. In fact they just called me to tell me I left something in the room and they are sending it back to me!

I've never posted photos before, but I'll try to get some up when I get home! The little netbook we travel with is far too slow or I'd try right now. Haven't really stopped in at lunch time yet (probably will tomorrow), but they have assorted salty snacks in the afternoon (ie. trail mixes, bits and bites, spicy nut mix, etc.) plus water (either plain, with fruit in it, orange, lemon, or strawberry so far, or small bottles to take), juice boxes, and bags of chips or cheetos.

After 5 they have a warm appetizer (ie. chicken empanadas, spanakopeta), plus an assortment of cheeses and crackers, veggies, smuckers pb+j crustless sandwich packages, home-made chips and salsa (delicious!) and a dessert assortment with chocolate dipped strawberries, tarts, cookies, and cream puffs.

I will get some pics up when I get home! The food has been really good, I've been very impressed! Hope this helps :)

I've had absolutely no problems with the wifi so far, have full bars right now, maybe because it's less busy? Who knows!

Interesting, we just stayed 3 nights for Tink and I thought the Wifi was the best I've EVER had at a hotel!

Also, I've heard complaints about the elevators - never ONCE did we wait more than 30 seconds for an elevator, and we were on the 13th floor.

Love PPH Concierge and can't wait for my trip! Thanks for the report!

Interesting on the wifi. Maybe it depended on where in the hotel you were? Not sure.
And I agree with you on the elevators. We were on 8 and the only time I had a longish wait for the elevator was the morning of the Half when all the racers were going downstairs. Other than that I never waited long at all.

Hi! Question for those who have stayed in a suite....did you find the suite was cheaper than two rooms?

We love, love, love the PPH. We are trying to talk my dad into coming with us in the Summer. He hasn't been to the parks in 10 years, and has never been to the parks with my kids (his grand kids) and I want him to come before the boys get too old. It's so magical to take them right now. I think my parents would like the option to be within walking distance if they want to come back for a break. They both have a number of health issues and I don't want them to get too tired out.

In the one bedroom suite, do you get 2 queens and a sofa sleeper (just like a regular room) and it's connected to the room with the couch? Is there still one bathroom? I've read conflicting room layouts so I want to make sure. Is concierge included in the price of a suite or still extra?

And finally, any tips/advice for suites? Special room number? Book directly through the PPH or call the reservation number?

Our 1 bedroom suite at PPH had two queens in the bedroom and then the pullout in the adjoining parlor. There was no other place to sleep in the bedroom other than the two beds.

I just put tea bags in my bag, thank you. :goodvibes

Smart girl. We searched all over for a couple of tea bags. You had to buy a Disney box of them costing around $15. I'm definitely packing tea bags next time we go!

Interesting...so there was just one pull out in the parlor? Or two? And thank you!

In the parlor there was a sectional sofa and it was just one pullout.

So in total....two queen beds in the bedroom and one pullout in the parlor.

We've only stayed in one suite at PPH and that was the configuration. There was no daybed or anything else for additional sleeping in the bedroom.

:beach: Anyone going in July, 2014? DH & I are making our ressies July 7 - 12th. We're getting a theme park view room. Also, are there any updated pictures or info? My computer got an error opening the beginning thread.
