Which hotel will be less busy the 3rd week of August? I have been torn between the 2 hotels as I have been reading good and bad about both. This is our first stay and really want to pick the hotel that we will enjoy the most.

The disneyland hotel will definitely feel less busy. There are three seperate towers which makes it feel a little more private, and not everyone is fighting for the same elevator. (The elevators at PP are slow). I would asume because PP is the cheapest of the three that it will be more busy because a higher number of people can afford to stay there. the DLH is beautiful and more magical. Plus in august it is hot, so you will probably want to swim. The DLH pool is a lot nicer.

DLH is also near the Monorail, so if you're too tired to walk back to your hotel in the evening, you can hop a ride back. I think it's nice that the DLH is in DTD too, so you'll just walk by all the nice shops on your way to the park. The PP is across the street from the Grand. The walk is not too long, but you're kind of outside the "Disney Bubble." So if your reasoning for staying at a Disney Hotel is to be immersed in Disney, then the DLH is a better option.

Definitely DLH, for all the reasons the PPs have mentioned above. If you can afford it, just go for it! I have never stayed at PPH, but I did stay there about 15 years ago when it was the Pan Pacific hotel (I think that was the name). We ended up walking over to the DLH for the character breakfast and the monorail anyway. The grounds and the pools are so beautiful and you really feel like you are at a resort, we wished we had stayed there that time. I did stay at DLH for the first time in November and I was really impressed. That's not to say that PPH is a bad hotel, just not as nice as DLH. Good luck with your decision!

For your first stay I would definitely go for the DLH. It is a lovely resort. PPH is nice but just not as special.

My vote is for the DLH. It is definitely worth it! Just a year ago or so they did a major renovation to all their rooms. So it is worth it!
