Paradise Pier hotel

We recently stayed at the Paradise Pier hotel at Disneyland. When we go back next year we won't be staying there.

Not that there was anything major wrong with the hotel it just didn't have that Disney feel to us. For the money we paid I though we had much nicer rooms at the Hilton.

The hotel also doesn't have a laundry. You have to go to the Disneyland hotel. We didn't like that idea.

Also found that the food in the restaurant was OK. Nothing special.

It was nice and easy to walk across the street and access the parks from the Grand Calif. I would spend the extra money and stay there because at least the place had atmosphere.

The breakfast we had at the Storytellers Cafe was excellent!!! Great server and a wonderful buffet.

Thank you for sharing I was thinking of staying there during our vacation Aug 2005, but I wasn't too impressed with videos and pictures.

I haven't stayed at the Paradise Pier, but I know what you mean. My dad worked there when it was known as "The Emerald Hotel" back in the 80's and was not owned by Disney. For the quality and atmospheres that Disney is known for, I don't think this is "up to par" since Disney did not conceive this hotel from the ground up.

I agree that Paradise Pier is a bit lacking. While we would still stay there again, we found that it just didn't have the same "feel" as the Disneyland Hotel. My least favorite aspect was the pool. I just love the Neverland Pool so much more. Even with the recent slide addition I still miss the Neverland. I thought the rooms were nice. The daybeds at PP are more comfy than the ones at DLH. Another thing I missed was the beautiful grounds at the Disneyland Hotel. Even when we are in the Bonita Tower, we enjoy the walk, the fountains, landscaping etc. At Paradise Pier you just kind of feel jipped. Still, with a good rate I think it beats staying off site because we love getting those Mickey wake up calls (sad but true)!

I Love the Paradise Pier. The view from the theme park side is amazing. I wouldn't stay there if you are in a city view. When the sun goes down and lights of DCA come on, it beats the GCH.
