Hi everyone! My son will be two when we go to Disneyland, and we're trying to decide between Paradise Pier Hotel and Disneyland Hotel. Paradise Pier is a little more within our budget, but I am not really seeing any "kiddie pools" for younger kids. Am I wrong? Is there any area that my son will able to enjoy semi-independently? Thanks!

Hi. There is a shallow kiddie pool at PP. It's rather plain - but not sure they care about theming at that age. In any case, it's there for the little ones with seating around it so the parents can be right there too.

It is one of those round wading pools that gets a little deeper into the centre. Nothing great but my 2 yo loved it. There are lots of life jackets to use too. They won't let you go down the water slide with your child on your lap. Just a little info before you climb all the way up to the top and then have to carry a pissed off 2 yo back down the stairs.

We loved PP and plan to stay there again.

Yes, PPH is good for littles. It's our go to when we visit Disneyland. Last Christmas we stayed at DLH and were underwhelmed, to say the least. We are now planning our PPH return trip for Christmas 2015, with a cabana rental at DLH because we love the pools. Be sure to get a CA view at PPH,.I think it makes the visit.

I've taken my kids to PPH from 10 months up....we love it. If we can afford it, that's where we stay. My boys love the beach ball pillows and the room is a great size. We can park two strollers (not folded up) and still have tons of room. My boys like sleeping on the pull out couch and we like it too because it is lower to the ground than the regular beds. My boys tend to fall off the bed a lot ;) I agree with Larina, try to get a view room, they are amazing!!

My kids like PP just fine. The little pool was good for my 2yo and the 6 and 8yo like the spa and slide. I bet the DLH slides are better, but not enough to justify $80 more each night. Plus we like walking through the GC on our way to the parks.

We stayed at PP about a year ago. Unfortunately, the pool was under renovation so I have no suggestions for that. However, my kids (then 5,6) spent much of our down time in the kids movie area. It is down the hall from the lobby and it looks like an indoor beach theme. They also have a mini arcade although that might be a little too big for your little one.

The only bad thing about this hotel was that they have a total of 3 elevators but our entire week visit it seemed one or two was out of order. This was extremely irritating especially when we had sleepy ones coming back from the park. The wait to get on the elevator was as long as some Disney rides. So one night we decided to forgo the line and just take the stairs, though great for the glutes, 9 story stair walk was not great for sleepy kids. Other than than hotel was great.

To park a car at the hotel during your stay is kind of steep also. For 5 days it was $80. Bonus, you don't have to pay to park at dl because the walk over is faster.

Too darn funny man! :rotfl2:Well...... ok, easy for me to laugh, I guess, for I have not the perturbed tot. :faint: ;)

Thanks all! Trying to weigh the benefits and drawbacks of where to stay is kind of maddening. It's nice to have a little help with the planning! :goodvibes

We are staying at PP for our upcoming trip. I was wondering if anyone can tell me does it have a food court type area like the hotels at WDW? Thanks in advanced.

PPH doesn't have a Food Court, but it does have the "Surfside Lounge" just off the Lobby.

It's open from 6:00am until about midnight, and they have sandwiches, pastries, fruit, yogurt, milk, juice, etc. in the cold cases, and also have a menu you can order from for hot items. They have a microwave available there also if needed.

They share the kitchen for PPH's "PCH Grill".

"PCH Grill" hosts the "Surf's Up" character breakfast each morning, closes for lunch, and then reopens at 5:30pm each evening for Dinner(not with characters).

They also have "Mickey in Paradise" gift shop, where they have lots of snacks/beverages to choose from!:)
