Paradise Peir Hotel

Can anyone tell me what the Paradise Pier is like? Are the rooms modern, clean? We want a room with a view of everything, any ideas on where in the hotel it should be or how to get that? Is the Pier better than the Disneyland Hotel? I'm not too interested in the Grand Californian simply due to the price hike. Thanks for any info.

I have stayed at all three Disney Hotels in Anaheim. While Paradise Pier is my least favorite of the three it is still decent particularly if you got a good price. We paid $129 per night last December and I asked for a DCA view and we got it. She asked if we minded being on the 13th floor and I said not at all. So if when you get there and they say all they have are the backside city view. Ask if there is a DCA view on the 13th floor. The room was average size and quite clean and comfortable. The room decore is more "Masculine" than lots of other rooms. In o9ther words there are no flowers anywhere. Not on the bead spread , wall paper or in the paintings. It was contemporary with a bit of Mickey Mouse thrown in. The view was spectacular even thought DCA was not open yet. The rest of the hotel while somewhat Disneyish still felt like it was a regular hotel that Disney took over (which is what it is). The Disneyland hotel doesn't have the prettiest buildings but the rooms are very large and comfortable. Much more Disney Decore and there is ALOT more around the resort that is fun.
You can use all the facilities at the Disneyland hotel when you stay at the Paradise Pier but it isn't the most convenient to do so.

Thanks for the info, that's what I suspected. I'm a sucker for a view, I was just trying to figure out if it was worth the price since I'm aware that the hotel is really just a regular hotel spruced up Disney style. I appreciate your honest opinion.

Here is my Impression of the Paradise Pier Hotel from this spring. I love the Disneyland Hotel, it is my personal favorite.
