We just got back from the Wonder4/14 cruise. Based on a tip from a cabbie we went to Cable Beach. A pinch further than Paradise (the unnegotiated rate is $5pp for Cable Vs $4pp for Paradise). We managed to get a stretch limo to take 6 of us for $20. Found out later there is a public bus that ill take you for $1 each way. What the heck, we got a stretch....Several nice (nothing close to the Atlantis) hotels with pools, hot tubs, outdoor bars, a casino and NICE beaches. We snorkled there and were very pleasently surprised. Look for the rock piles at the corner of the swimming areas. Many different types of fish and even saw an octopus. VERY COOL!
As long as I am typing. Before heading to Cable Beach we negotiated a van tour with a very entertaining driver named Leroy. He promised us an 1.25 hours and gave us 2. Very complete including a thorough tour of the Atlantis (which is why we went to Cable Beach to swim). If you can find Leroy I highly recomend him. You will walk away with an in-depth history lesson.
