Sorry if this has been addressed but I read that if you book a room at Comfort Suites you get FULL use of Atlantis resort. Does anyone know if this is true. I'm not talking about booking a day room but a full night's rate room. And, is this hotel nice or yucky? Mostly we will use it for the bathroom and for DD to take a quick nap.

Thanks!

We (dh, myself and dd's 4 & 6) booked a room at this hotel last November during our cruise. We booked in advance and paid $166. This rate was for 1 night and was broken down like this: $135/room, $16.20/tax & toll, $7.50/HK graturity, $8.00/energy surcharge. We arrived early, before the pools were open. Checked in and out at the same time. They let us keep the keys. We stopped at the room for a bathroom break. I thought the room was nice. The room had a kingsize bed, sofa/sitting area, and small refrigerator. I don't know if they're all the same. It was a short walk to Atlantis. We never went back to the room. Spent the entire day at the pools. We picked up our wristbands at a pool hut, which included use of all pools, slides, lazy river and the "dig". We loved this trip. Would love to go back for a land based vacation.

I wanted to mention our friends (also a family of 4) didn't book in advance, and requested a room the same day and were given a much higher price. Hope this helps :flower:

Yes it is true. If you book a room at the Comfort Suites, you get full access to the Atlantis. We did just that on our cruise last Feb. The hotel is nice. We commented that we might stay there if we were to vacation in Nassau while not on a cruise. We spent $195 for the room (2 adults, 2 kids). With taxes, tips, and lunch a one of the resturants at Atlantis, it was around $250. We took at cab to and from the hotel ($16 each way + tip).

Hope this helps . . .

Yep, it's true, just like everyone has said. You get FULL use of Atlantis, at a MUCH cheaper rate! And you can shower and change later in the day if you'd like. The little fridge is nice--we plan on storing our sandwiches and drinks in there and heading back to our room for lunch since everyone on this board talks about how outrageously expensive the food is at Atlantis.

we are a family of 5 (2 adults, 1 teen, 2 kids) ~ would we be able to book a room at CS and use the amenities or is it limited to 4 people?

Thanks! I just booked a room for $166.50 (AAA rate). That seems MUCH better than the $60 per person through the Disney excursion.

A couple of questions: Are the taxis safe? How far is Atlantis (specifically the pools) from the Comfort Suites? Also, do they let you check in earier than the posted time of 3 p.m. so that you can use the amenities?

Thanks for your help! :flower:

Thanks everyone for the replies! We did stay at Atlantis almost 2 years ago and LOVED it. :flower: But all we need this trip is use of the pools and a place to shower before heading back to the ship and straight to dinner so this seems like a good option. We will have actually 5 people with us - DD will only be 2. I'm hoping that they will allow her in the pools too. Anyone have any experience with this. When I called Atlantis about I was told no problem for 5 wristbands in a room for 4. Don't know if they will be extra hard on the CS quests about this at the wristband hut. :confused3

This sounds exactly like what we are interested in! How did you get from port to the hotel? Is a taxi the only transportation available?
TIA!

From what I remember the taxis are the only way but I felt safe in the one we took (mind you it was 2 years ago). It was not too expensive either.

I'm hoping to get a few more experiences on this place. I found a great rate on AAA of $161 so it looks like this is the route we will take as Atlantis lowest rate I could find is $265.

Can anyone share anymore experiences? I still have to make sure that since we are 4 plus one 2yo that we will be allowed to obtain enough bracelets.

I found the business card of the taxi driver that drove us to the hotel. It reads: L. Cash's Taxi-Cab/Tour Service. Cell #242-636-0083/Tel #322-3604. Laynbert Cash-Taxi #414. He was very nice and gave us a brief history of the island as he drove. It was about a 10-15 minute drive. Sorry, I can't remember the cost (maybe $3-$4 pp). I do remember there was no charge for our youngest daughter, who was 4 at the time. :wave2:

This sounds like a great idea!! We are also gathering ideas on using CS but what if the weather(let's hope not :confused3 ) is not cooperating...can you get a refund on your reservation or would you still have to pay for the room??? I would think by booking a day room you decide that morning? Any suggestions and can you get (5) wristbands per room?

Thanks...... I'm Getting Excited!!!!!!!! :cheer2:

Just back - Went to the Comfort Suites - Taxis were fine $4 per person from docks. We got there early no room yet. Checked in any way to use the pools right away. Went to the Atlantis for the day had a blast. Went back at 4 room was ready. Cleaned up and headed back to the ship. Brought PB & J from room service on board before we left. (Found out later you were not suppose to take ship off the ship oops!)

How'd you find out? We're planning on packing some zip lock bags and order room service sandwiches the night before and zip 'em up, store in the cooler, and take the sandwiches and bottles of water we brought on board with us to Comfort Suites. So is this not allowed? :confused3

I order the food in morning about 30 minutes before we left. The came very quickly and I put them in a Ziploc bag. Someone from room service told me later that day that you not suppose to bring food off the ship.
Here is a tip. If you want Potato chips in a bag to bring with you grab some from Pluto’s before you go. They have them sitting out near the ketchup. The chips the give you with room service are loose and don't travel well. Also there are apples and other fruit at Scoops.

I think the "official" policy is that you should not take food off the ship, but why not? If you were staying on-board, you'd probably be eating more.

I guess they don't want room service to be overwhelmed on or the night before port days. For the prices they charge for the cruise, I think they should go ahead and have box lunches available (by advance order) for people who are getting off the ship.
