I was just reading on cruise critic about this beach. Has anyone been there? It looks like something we could do easilly after shopping.

Ann, I did alot of research on PB this summer. We are definitely heading over there. From everything that I have read, it seams wonderful.

We cancelled our Fury catamaran's as we really like to shop in Cozumel, we own our our snorkel equip and would like to catch the beach after we shop (mike collects hand carved masks and me well I collect jewelry ;) )
anyhow we thought an excursion we could swing on our own time would work well, how far away is it? BTW Mike is enjoying emailing your nephew

We did Paradise Beach on our Septeber cruise. It was a great day. The taxi to PB was about $13. I think it took about 20 minutes to get there. At the time we were there, they didn't charge--they just asked that you buy food there; now charge $5 for use of the water mats (like the ones at CC), the iceberg, and the trampoline. The beach is very clean, as are the restrooms. They have showers for washing off. The beach itself is narrow, but long, so the chairs aren't far from the shore. The food is VERY good, not overly expensive and the service was excellent. There are also open tents nearby that sell shirts, etc. They also have open air massages- for @$1 per minute. I didn''t have one, but someone sitting near me did and thought it was great. They accept credit cards, but our waiter asked if we would mind tipping him in cash. When we left, there were at least 2-3 taxis waiting to drive us back.

We weren't able to get to Castaway Cay on the cruise because of hurricane damage, but this was a very acceptable substitution.

Ann: Everything that I have read states about 15-20 minutes and that all taxis will know where it is. They usually have someone at the dock handling out flyers also. However, I did read several times, that part of the beach might be rocky. I am glad it is working out with the e-mails. I spoke to my brother this morning and he mentioned that it was going well. I think they are looking foward to meeting.

We were at PB last Wed and there were 9 ships in port at Cozumel that day. So of course it was jam packed. We almost left, but the crew at PB were able to find us a place with an umbrella, and as the day went on, some people left, and we ended up right by the water. Tom came by and said hello. It was the most crowded they had ever been. But everyplace at Cozumel was crowded. And the wind was blowing huge waves in. The ice berg tipped over several times by the wind.
I am glad we stayed. Arturo was our server, and he was terrific. He would RUN to get us whatever we needed. Beer was cold, food was good. We ate upstairs. DW and DD got massages for $1 per minute and loved it.

I guess what I am trying to say is that we were there under the worst conditions and still enjoyed our visit. The cab fare was $14 one way for every 4 people from Punta Langosta Pier. We had 8 in a van, and it was $28 one way.
Yes, I will go back.

Is the $5 charge for unlimited use of all the items? Or per time per item?

Thanks

We went to Paradise Beach on our Nov 6th cruise and loved it! We got there early and there were plenty of chairs available. We wandered around and ended up on the beach next door and they were very PUSHY!! They wanted us to go in there shops, swim in their pools, and buy our drinks there.

We stayed on Paradise Beach after that and ate and drank for around $85.00. This was for 10 people, and for 3 buckets of beers. We payed 5.00 for the kids to use the trampoline and iceberg. They weren't crazy about the iceberg, they had a hard time getting up it, and a lot of handles were missing!

The water was warm and calm, and they also had bungee jumping for 10.00. They really enjoyed this!

The taxi for 10 of us was 30.00 going, and what a taxi ride it was :earseek: We had a great day here and I would highly reccommend it.

musicgirl: I believe it is $5 all day per person. They give you wristbands if you pay.

Can you tell more about the bungee jumping, I had not heard about that, is it in th water, my 9 year old is very daring and would love it, but there is no way I would allow her to jum from high up in the air......

No, it's not in the water, it's down on the beach from Paradise Beach. My 9 year old did it and loved it. Actually you are jumping on a big trampoline with a bungee rope on. I do not know how many times they let you jump, ( 5 minutes for children my dd just informed me). :Pinkbounc
