Hi -

I have been reading and now am wondering if it is true that there are no Disneyland parades scheduled during the month of March? our trip is scheduled for March 15-19 and I am disappointed that there may not be a big Disneyland traditional parade.

It's true. They are repaving Main Street and doing work on the trolley tracks, so no parades until they unveil the new Celebration parade on March 27th.

There is the Pixar Play parade over at DCA. Yeah, I know, not the same. :sad2:

There are plenty of other things to do in DL, don't let a missing parade be the downfall of your trip. :) Maybe they will do a soft opening or a trial run and you'll be able to see it. :)

how much does main street being under construction affect Disneyland? Are the shops still open? can you still walk along it? is that where they do the fireworks?

sorry for the ignorance, we have never been so not at all sure of what to expect.

Thanks for any and all info and suggestions anyone has for us first timers ... we want to make the trip as much fun for our kids (6 and 4) as possible as we live far from the park so this won't be a regular trip for us.

Last time I went, there were a couple of big square partitions in areas of main street. I guess they do the work inside them. All the stores were open, so it didn't affect that. You can still walk down the street, and on the sidewalk. The fireworks were still happening, and you could still stand in main street to watch them

Fireworks are NOT a nightly thing right now. They had them for MLK weekend, they will have them this weekend but they won't be back until March. I think you are going to be OK tho, I think they will be back by the time you are there. Some of the stores are closed for refurb but for the most part they are open, there are boxes in places that you will have to walk around but MS still functions even tho the trolley tracks are being fixed.
