parades in MK & MGM

What time should we be lining up for the parades at MK & MGM?

Also, which day would be better for the MK parade-Thurs (EE day) or Mon? Or should I rearrange the schedule and do the parade a different day?

We'll be there 9/3 to 9/8.

Try to line up 30 minutes before in MK and 15-20 minutes before in MGM. If you look for a shade go 15 minutes earlier than this.

The crowds start to fill up Main St first, if you line up in other area, for example in Liberty Square in front of the Bell, you will find less people. Check the parade route in the Guide Map.

Another tip: if you have your camera or camcord, try to find a place where the sun is in your back. you will get much better pictures.

Our favorite place for Mk parades is on the balcony of
the Train station. get there about 45 min - 1 hour grab a
snack and rest. we have a toddler - great time for bottle,
juice and rest time while waiting for parade.
Tables up there and chairs PERFECT for us . Can see down
Main St to castle, watch the people line up and enjoy
with out any pushing or worrying of the kids wanting
out in the street...

For MK, there is a great little spot in Frontierland with rocking chairs on the porch, actually they are elevated. They are across the street and down a ways from the Turkey Leg Stand.

At MGM, there's a benched, shady circular area in front of the Brown Derby. You can stand on the benches and face out to watch the parade. It was great to have a place where our three year old could run around away from the crowds.
