Parade taping, crowds?

Rumor is they are not taping the parade, they didn't last year either, they just used old parade footage. They may be taping some musical performances but that hasn't been confirmed yet either. I'm curious as well as I will be there that weekend! I was there in 2013 when they did a taping and it didn't really affect crowds, except on Main Street. And it was kinda of boring, when we watched a little. They kept taping the same portion of the parade over and over. Only like 3 floats kept going down Main Street.

The thing with this year is the crowds the 60th have been drawing. I have never seen DL as busy as I have every time I've gone this year so I am expecting crowds due to that, although the official Christmas Season doesn't begin until the next weekend so hoping locals will stay away until then! :)

It depends which day you're there. The short answer is, if it's the parade portion taping, people will line Main St and the performers stay in the parks afterwards. If it's the stage portion then people line up to see the acts and there will be people in front of the hub and castle watching, a standby line and a line for the next act. There will be crowd control measures in place that may restrict which paths you can take. The stage will be set up in front of the castle both days, so you will not be able to walk across the drawbridge.

Inside The Mouse states taping will be Dec 11-13 @ DLR. I had really hoped/expected it to be earlier. :(

Well dang, I'll be there the week before. I'm trying to make a quicky trip down for the 13th though, which is Dick Van Dykes 90th birthday. There's a group of fans that will be dressed as chimney sweeps that day. Dick is suppose to be in the park celebrating, but they haven't announced the events yet. Looks like that will be a really busy weekend now!

What is inside the mouse? WDW just released that they are taping their part of the Christmas stuff NOV 11-13 so maybe that's what you saw? DL has never taped their Christmas stuff in December.

It's a blog with a Facebook presence. It said the typical Nov dates for DLR is when WDW is filming, and DLR will be in Dec instead. I'll try to find the link again.

ETA: Inside The Magic, not Inside The Mouse. Oops! http://www.**************.net/2015/...ney-world-in-november-disneyland-in-december/

Oh wow! I am surprised they would move it to December, being that it will be much busier then than in the beginning of November! Well I personally am glad, maybe crowds will be a little lower my weekend in November!!

Agreed!

Add me to the happy to have less of a crowd! :) Although, I was trying to book Blue Bayou reservations and couldn't get a dinner on that Saturday the 7th at ALL. Everything was booked 4-7pm which is strange...

My guess is they will not tape the Christmas Parade but tape Dance Team performances, celebrity/musical acts and possibly segments of Paint the Night. There is no need to waste the time/money taping something that hasn't changed in years.
