Parade Tape Day at MK, anyone ever been? I got questions.

Just how crowded does it get?
Is it crowded all day?
Is it mostly crowded infront of the castle or the whole park?
Does taping take place open till close?

Any help would be grateful. I accidently locked myself into an ADR on that day. I tried to change it but everything is now booked. I won't waste the ADR, but I have a huge fear of Mob like crowds.

I assume you are referring to the Christmas Parade? My sister and BIL were there last year during the taping and they said it actually wasn't bad. Main St was crowded but the rest of the park was manageable.....have fun! When is the taping this year? We will be in WDW 11/27-12/3.....wondering if it's 12/3??

I would love to know this as well. We just moved here and are very excited to try and go when they tape it.

You might want to try your question out on the theme park boards. I've never done it, but I've seen it discussed many times there. If I recall correctly, Main Street is complete and total gridlock for hours. The park beyond Main Street, I'm not sure.

Taping this year is Dec 5th.

We were there for the taping back in 2004, it was not very exciting to be honest. The best thing was, so many people were standing on Main Street to watch the taping that the rest of the park was practically empty!

That year they taped in chunks. We walked in when they working on the Animal Kingdom bit, we watched them back up and rehearse the same section about 5 times before walking on to find some rides. We did learn that year that the parade hosts aren't actually there. They watch the filmed footage and commentate on that, while making it look like they were there live. All in all we were told it takes them most of the day to film the parade.
