The bridge that connects Liberty Square to the hub at WDW is badly in need of repairs. The concern here is the bridge's placement on the parade route. The park uses the same route for the afternoon and evening parades. Disney has applied for a permit to replace the bridge but we will have to watch the news to see what will happen with the parades. {This information is from the DIZNEWS site.}

I was looking at the bridge last week while watching the parade and was wondering about what was going on underneath.

There was talk that the route would somehow change going from Toon Town up to the front of the park. That route would be similar to what is done in California where it runs from Small World to the front of the park. If there are two parades, then the second one runs the other direction (or the floats are brought back after the park closes).

When part of Main St. at Disneyland was closed, it ran from Small World, around the hub then back to Small World - a short route and a way to see the parade twice.

I know 25 years ago we would sometimes run the parade out the other side of the park. That was before toontown. Don't know how that effects it. They would only run the parade once instead of twice in one night because of the extra timeit took to get the floats down the roads to the backstage area behind pirates.

If my memory serves correct.:goodvibes

It would be Interesting to see the parade from a different route. I for one think one of the best stops besides Main Street, is in Liberty Square right next to the bridge. I have some wonderful pictures of the floats going acrossed the bridge with the Castle in the background.

I don't know how they would possibly get all of the floats out in TT. There's not that much space backstage (granted I haven't been back there since 20K was razed) but I just don't think it would be possible...interesting though.
