What lands/rides are open during the parade and fireworks, we will be there in a little over a week and we plan to skip these to take advantage of the rides and I am just wondering what will be open.

TIA!

There are no land closures for the parade (although, the train does stop until the parade clear the train track crossings), but it can make it tough to cross from one land to another if you have go across the parade route (e.g., if you wanted to go from Tomorrowland to New Orleans Square). All of Toontown, parts of Fantasyland (attractions near the castle), and the monorail closure for fireworks.

The monorail closes at 8:30pm, even though the fireworks don't start until 9:30!

yeah no closures it just becomes difficult to get to the certain lands alternate routes to were you want to go is good knowledge to have.

I would generally recommend that either you try to get to the land you want to be in before the parade steps off (i.e., starts) or wait until after the parade finishes before trying to cross the route. PtN has only one crossing point, so if you get caught up in the back of the group waiting to cross, it's possible that you won't make it across the route before they have to close the crossing point. In terms of routes...in general, it's easier to just follow the directions of the CMs rather than try to go against the flow of traffic to get where you want to go. It can make the route rather long, but ultimately it's probably "easier" than trying to push through the oncoming traffic.

Storybookland doesn't close for PTN? It does for Soundsational.

I had forgotten about that...Storybook Canal Boats will be closed due to a parade (at least they used to). Technically, the walkway that goes by the Alice bathrooms is also blocked off during the parade.

I agree with the OP.....pick a Land that you want to be in before the shows start because it could be quite difficult to move around during the shows.
