Parade Fastpass

I do not think its a horrible idea, however Disney and their track record recently leave me with some serious reservations about this concept.

I like the idea of not having to pick out a spot 1 hour or more prior to the parade and sit there trying to defend it against stroller battering rams and obnoxious people who think 6 inches of space in front of you is plenty for them and their party of 4.

I actually like this idea. If it means that I would have a prime spot to watch the MSEP, really be able to enjoy one running of it, get some great pictures, etc., I am all for it!! I love Fantasmic because I get there, have a seat and get a good view. Would love to be able to have a fast pass for the night shows to be able to see more stuff and then go to the viewing area. Just sayin!

Terrible horrible idea it's bad enough to have to be on ms an hour to two hours before but now they are going to make it harder!!! Another thing that sticks it to the average guest. Just like the terrible idea of FP in you hotel room Disney want us to plan every last second of our vacation.

Sorry having to plan every second of my day is not magical!

Bad Idea. I understand Having to plan Ressies in Advance to get the good Restaurants in for TS's, but this is purely Ridiculous. I agree with Figment. Having to plan every little bit is a Pain in the ***

Hope this dies faster than Mufasa

P.S. I love the lion king.

I hope that they could do something where spots could be reserved. After waiting on MS with a 2 year old for over an hour and in the last 10 minutes having people shove and try and stand in front of her I would be welcome to an improvement :)

That is really how I feel about things.

I do not see anything wrong with letting people get a FP for a parade spot as long as it does not become the only way to get a decent view of the parade. If someone wants to use one of their FP windows to get a parade FP then whats the big deal?

After all its less people in lines for rides, isn't it?

Disney needs to make sure that they still allow people the ability to show up and keep things spontaneous if that is what they desire. The parade route is long enough that they should be able to do this without much of an issue.

The key is how they do it. As I mentioned earlier I have some serious reservations about how they will do it. The idea itself is not a bad one, the way the choose the implement it could very well be though.

This was tested a couple of weeks ago for a few days at the day parade. The area was in the HUB in front of the Castle (actually not the "best" place to see the parade IMHO).

No clue as to what the test results were. No idea when any other tests will happen or where they will be conducted

I like it! I mean hopefully they won't add any bleachers :lmao: But I like the idea as one of the previous posters have said to be able to get a guaranteed great view and great photo opps w/o having to stake out a spot for at least 2 hours before. I mean most only view the dang thing once during their vacay if at all. So, I think it would work for those folks and my family as well. :hippie:

No objections to it whatsoever!!

They aren't roping off the entire parade route and distributing reserved tickets. It's one section available to guests who choose to reserve their spot ahead of time.

Viewing the entirety of Fastpass as a system, adding more options--logical options--can only help elsewhere. Every Fastpass taken for parade viewing or character meet-and-greets is one less Fastpass taken for Space Mountain or BTMR.

There is no obligation to get a parade Fastpass. Hundreds of people can still camp out on curbs if they wish. I see nothing wrong with trying to strike a balance between those who wish to plan and those who crave spontaneity.

Using this to extrapolate that Main Street will one day be lined with bleachers...puhleeze! :rolleyes1

Just another way to stick it to the average guest. Pretty soon your vacation will be planned to the tooth. You wont be able to wait on line for anything you will have your assigned time to ride SM (concept being tested with Dumbo). Every last second of you vacation must be planned.

If you think this won't be expanded you are crazy it will spread like a disease.

Whether YOU agree or not, people love FastPass.

This is a test. Nothing more. And it's limited to a small piece of real estate along the parade route. If you don't think there are people who would warmly embrace the idea of having a parade spot reserved, then you are completely out of touch with the "average guest", IMO.

This is not really my problem combine this with the new format of Dumbo, NextGen in that they will want you to reserve FP's from you hotel room and then yes I have a problem.

That is Disney basically dictating your vacation for you. Why stop there maybey get rid of FP because you will have no line. Every night Disney sends your schedule to your room.

Thieoretical persons schedule
9:00 AM meet Mickey (this is your time don't miss it.
9:25 AM Space Mountain "I don't like coasters I want to ride HM! But it can't till my scheduled time at 3:45"

Disney is seriously toying with this idea Dumbo is a huge test bed. Why do you want to loose control of your vacation?
