I am planning my first trip to DCL for September and am trying to figure out our parade and fireworks plan. It will just be me and my husband but we only have 1 day for DLR, so I don't really want to be wasting hours of park time sitting on a curb. I still would like a pretty good view of the fireworks and parade though. It doesn't have to be front row or anything; we are both tall and won't mind standing a couple rows back as long as we can still have an ok view. For the fireworks I really would like a view of the castle and the matterhorn. What do you think is the best plan for us?

You can go near Cafe Corner (next to Jolly Holiday). They cordon off the parade route and you can stand behind the people who'll be there for the parade. After the parade go to the middle of the street for the fireworks. You'll want to be where you can see the sky left of the castle, where the majority of fireworks are, the Matterhorn, and as much of the castle facade that you can see for the projections. (I'm going to move this to our DL planning board).

Pretty close to what I would have said. I would have suggested further onto Main Street near Gibson Girl Ice Cream so you can see the Main Street building effects - but you would miss the Matterhorn effects (which I have seen and think Main Street is better). Regardless, that general area that MJ and I suggest is just right if you can make it happen. If you are closer to the castle as MJ suggests be sure to look behind you at Main Street a few times. :)

I would have recommended the clock across from the Candy Palace (basic area you'd recommend), but kaylasmom07 wants to see the castle and Matterhorn, so that's why I said that area. heh :)

My bad. I did not read the OP carefully enough! :sad2:

Thank you very much for the great advice (and for moving this to the appropriate place)! How early do you think we need to be there in order to get a spot where you suggest?
