My daughters want to see Miley Cyrus when she comes to our town later in the year. My older daughter bought the tickets - there is a maximum of four per household - using my credit card this morning when tickets went on sale. (I had a meeting at church and had asked her to do this for me.)

The event says it is a "paperless" ticket show - I will have to show up with the same credit card used to make the purchase, plus my photo ID, and have my credit card swiped in order to gain access to the venue. They will print a "seat location" slip at that time and we will then go to our seats.

I know they are doing this in order to avoid the fiasco the last time Hannah Montana tickets were on sale, and I fully support that. I don't mind driving my girls out to the coliseum and parking in order to swipe my credit card.

What I AM wondering is whether I have to actually attend the show. I would much rather have my younger daughter be able to invite another friend, since most 15 year old girls want to see Miley Cyrus a whole lot more than I do!! It would be a shame if someone didn't get to go and I had to see the show...

Does anyone have any experience with this format? Can you show up and have your credit card swiped but have four people with you that you send inside?

I think you are going to have to go. Not only do you need to show the credit card, but you need to show a government-issued ID - so you can't just give your credit card to your daughter.

I guess you could walk to the door with the girls, show them the IDs and then give the tickets to the kids.

I got tickets this morning, too.

We did the same thing this morning. I don't think you need to attend. I think you just need to be at the door to let them in and get your card swiped and ID checked but I am not 100% sure.

The question I have is even though I used a credit card with my name on it, my husband's name came up on the email reciept. Will I be OK getting in without him? I will have the card with my name with me. It's a joint account.

Hmm that's a good one. I might call ticketmaster if I were you. Whose name is your ticketmaster account under?

Where are your seats? Ours are on the side, lower level. We have sat there for the Jonas Brothers, and I liked it there.

it says on the ticketmaster site that you will have to go in and check them with your id/credit card but you don't need to go to the show...

we tried to get them but decided against it because I didnt like the seats that we got...I refuse to pay over $400 for crappy balcony seats...

Yes, this is what I am wondering. And this is what I am hoping for. Not that I would mind seeing Miley Cyrus, but I would much rather my daughter be able to take another one of her friends if she has the choice. It would be more fun for her and her friend, and I could easily give up seeing Miley - I'm just not that big a fan!!

I think I will call the coliseum and see how they are going to handle it - it would be a disaster if we invited someone and found out at the door that she couldn't get in!!

I think the tickemaster account is in his name. I thought I had changed it to mine in preparation for this but I guess it didn't work. The credit card will have my name so hopefully that will be enough. I will call to make sure. I figure worst case scenario is he will have to walk us to the door but I would like to avoid that if I can.

Aah, here's my answer - I didn't click far enough into the Ticketmaster explanation to find this "Learn More" section:

Q. What if I'm not going to the show, but I purchased the tickets?

A. If you bought the tickets for a friend or family member, you will need to take them to the entry gate and still present your credit card and government issued ID.

So it looks like I can take 4 girls, swipe my credit card, and have them all get in easily enough. Perfect!!!

I got 4 tickets this morning in the lower level section nearest the stage (not floor seats) in the 2nd row and they were less than $400! Different prices for different venues?

Off topic, but does anyone know who is opening for her on this tour?

Her brothers band

I don't think you need to attend the concert. You just need to be tehre to prove you were the one that purchased them, so you swipe your card, show your ID and get the tix printed.
