I need a new paper trimmer. What kind do you have that you like/hate and why? Cannot spend a fortune. Thanks for any recommendations!

I have a Fiskars. Bought it when it was on sale AND we had a friends and family coupon from Michaels! I like it very much.

I guess Fiskars it is! Which one do you have (they make a bunch)? Rotary, 12", etc. I was looking at this one on sale at joann's

Thanks for the feedback. I hate buying things that look like they will work well and then they either don't last or you don't like using them.

I have that one and love it. I prefer a rotary or guillotine myself. However, that is not really portable if you plan on taking it to crops. I also have this one, I don't use the rotary side at all because the mechanism locks every time you push it down. I do love the guillotine side.

I have a cuttle bug rotary cutter. I think it's called Cutterpede. I love the rotary cutter over the older ones that pretty much shredded the paper lOL

I have this one.
I have the one you posted but I never use it.

I've had it for years and love it but I just put in a new blade and it isn't working at all. I wonder if I accidentially bought the blade for the one Miss Bianca posted. I've never had any problems before so I would still recommend it.

One tip if you buy either of these I would recommend flipping up the clear ruler and painting the underside with clear fingernail polish as soon as you get it. I didn't with my first one and all the numbers wore off.

Tonic 12" guillotine.

No parts to keep replacing. Guillotine sharpens itself each time you cut. And its always straight.

I'm done with all those crappy trimmers you slide back & forth & have to keep replacing the blade. I've bought all the others & they were always producing crooked cuts. Never again.

Besides the 12x12 version I have, they have a 12x6 version & others.
In the group I belong to, Tonic is the most popular trimmer amongst the members.

Fiskars has had redesign their trimmer so many times over the years due to it just not meeting anyone expectations. Even now looking at their site they still have so many to pick from. How many times will they keep trying before they finally get it? I gave up on them after 4 trimmers & moved on.

Yes!! I had that one before my current one, they take different blades. The black one has a more flat top on the blades, my new one is more rounded.

Thank you! That saved me a bunch of frustration because now I know the unopened pack of replacement blades I have is the wrong kind. Looks like I'll be taking it back to the store to exchange it. I just hope I don't have to buy the newer Fiskars trimmer because I can't find blades for the one I have. It's so light and portable.
