paper piecing question

Does a paper piecing have to be plain paper cut out and embellished to become a piecing Or can it be a printed picture that you cut out and embellish and add to? I found the most adorable picture of Mickeys house that is a graphic. I can't cut it out and give it the detail that the photo has. But I can emebellish it and make it dimentional. What do you guys think?
If not I have a back up idea for the disney swap. But if any of you would like a mickey house that are in the swap let me know what you think. Thanks.

My .02: I would have no problem with you doing something like that if we were in a swap together. I figure a great element is a great element, no matter how it got that way.

I really like the idea of the embellished graphic! I would certainly use it! I say go for it!
