Does anyone know if it's possible to request paper menus in the main dining room in lieu of the QR code approach? We'll be sailing on the Magic Feb 19. My family includes two 75+ dads who are perpetually flummoxed by QR codes. (For the record, the demise of paper menus is among the stupidest faux COVID protections. I am all for real precautions like masking, vaccines and social distance. But paper menus? C'mon!)

Yes, our Last cruise the table next to us got paper menus every night. funny though, they were a family with tweens/teens. So while my 70+ husband was scanning the QR code every night, these young folk were requesting paper menus. Though our server did offer us paper menus, but we were fine with the QR, plus we pretty much know the menus by heart now. We were fine with our phones, after all they are our camera.

Yes, DCL will provide that basic level of customer service. All you'll have to do is ask for a paper menu.

On our Dec 19th 7-night cruise, the staff offered paper menus without asking. They would also bring back a menu when ordering deserts.

They even gave the paper menus to my friend as a souvenir! We were on Magic, Jan 3-8.

We used the menus from the app at Christmas, didn't use QR codes. But granddaughter got paper kids menu each night.

Good to know. Of course who knows what the practice will be when we finally get around to cruising again. Last thing I want to do is have to carry my phone with me. I cruise to get away from that kind of stuff.

My primary problem with the QR code menus is that it assumes that everyone has a phone to use. My kids are old enough to read the menu on their own but too young to have phones. Paper menus are always preferred for me for that reason.

Having the themed menus adds to the atmosphere in the restaurants. I MUCH prefer paper menus. I was able to get paper menus a few times on a recent cruise.

One thing I noticed with phone menus is our serving team would expect us to be ready to order when we hadn't even looked at the menu yet. Without paper menus, they can't see if you've looked/decided what to order as easily.

From the embarkation lunch on request, I was given an original paper menu, After that, each night with my culinary team would present me with a paper menu without asking. I did ask to keep the SW menu. Fabulous professional crew members on the Fantasy! Sailed 1/8.
