I was just looking on ebay (dangerous place to be!) and noticed they sell paper bags steamed with pre drilled holes. How do you steam a paper bag? Is it with an iron? And what does pre drilled mean? I have been using a hole punch on mine. Do you actually drill the bag? :confused3 Thanks in advanced for helping unconfuse my brain! :wave2:

They can be ironed. Even that isn't necessary. You can just fold the bags, punch the holes, attach string or ribbon to bind them and then embellish away!~

I know at Kinko's and places like that, they have these HUGE hole punches that are called drills and they do thousands at a time. Maybe that's what they mean? :confused3

You can punch about three folded bags at a time with a decent office hole punch. I have even used a hand-held one on occasion. I am making 25 3-bag albums for an upcoming event and punching the holes for all of them only took a few minutes. Make template out of cardstock first and then punch in the holes so that all your pages are aligned.

Thanks for the answers. I have made one before that I used as an autograph book at Disney. But I never had any official instructions. i just look at the ones on ebay and go from there. I wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something 'wrong' by not steaming my bags and just using a hole punch.

what exactly is a paper bag book? I feel left out of the loop.....never made one, don't know what they are, or why you use them.....Help!

Here is the front cover of mine. I made it for my DD to get autographs when we went to Disney. The characters loved seeing their own pages and it was different from anything they had seen before. Mine is much larger than most. You are suppsoe to use 3 or 4 paper bags per book. I used 12 or more since there are so many Disney characters. They are fun and easy, you should try one!
