Help convince me that I do not need to pack pants for our July trip. I have honestly never travelled anywhere that is as consistently hot as Florida, and so have always brought at least one pair of pants with me and am struggling to leave them home. I won't need them though, right? THANKS!

Sorry I can't help you! I would still bring a pair a pants along just in case. But I'm from Wisconsin so I would probably just wear them on the plane and possibly wear the same pair home again.

Coming from a state that is already getting on the warm side, the only way I would include a pair of pants is if I wore them on the plane or was planning on going to a very nice restaurant that I couldn't wear shorts or capris to. It will be sweltering in July. You might consider a sundress or loose skirt instead. At least air can blow up them. ;)

I always wear pants on the plane in case its a little too air conditioned. Then I can use them during the trip if we happen to hit a cool night. I don't think its necessary to pack a pair too.

I agree with wearing a pair of pants on the plane and then you have them if you need them. :thumbsup2

My DH always teases me that I have no blood... I am always cold! If you're like me and can get a chill when the sun goes down even in the dead of summer then I would recommend bringing a pair of pants or at least capris. Plus, the air conditioning can make things pretty chilly.

My mother used to always make us pack a pair of pants just in case when we would vacation down in on the Gulf Coast in the summer time. Now, I never pack a pair of pants to go down there. In fact, it is a running joke with our family when we vacation together..."Did you pack yet." and the answer is "nah what do I need to pack, a couple of bathing suits, pair of flip flps, short and t-shirts and I'm ready to go." Really that is all you need as far as clothes. I mean honestly are you the type to get cold really easily.

Florida in July is very hot. As others have mentioned, you won't need a pair of pants unless you're planning a formal dinner (California Grill, etc.).

Enjoy your trip!

i'm planning on bringing one pair of jeans when we go in july. i did the same last year when we went at the end of july and i used them. the problem is that you just never know. mostly i'll probably be wearing capris or shorts. call me crazy, but jeans are kind of my like security blanket, just so i know that i'll be warm if need be (i'm always cold!).

Last May I packed mostly capri type pants, and almost no shorts because I didn't want to worry about my pasty white legs. Big mistake! This year for my trip in June it will be all shorts, and I will wear capris down on the plane so I have at least one pair if we do get a chilly night.

we went in July last year- and brought sweat shirts and pants for all 5 of us. never used any of it the whole time. This July, I am going to save the space in my suitcase for souviners !!! :thumbsup2
trust me, not needed :wizard:

We were there in July 2 years ago, skip the pants. Wear capris on the plane. That's what I'm doing when we go this year in August.:)

I wear sun protective pants all the time when at Disney (or travelling elsewhere) - they are lighter than most shorts, and I don't get burned.

I normally wear a pair of heavier pants on the plane, because it can get chilly. It can also sometimes get chilly in Disney movie theaters and such. :)

We went in September and only packed one pair. We only needed them on the plane to and from home. I never even made it out of the airport in Orlando with them on, it was way too hot! Never wore them once while at Disney.

I also generally wear capri's on the plane and then change in Orlando airport if its sweltering or just hold out till I get to the resort.

I feel "better" when we go to a sit down restaurant for dinner wearing capri's with a shirt rather than shorts, just me I guess!
I often pack one pair and wear a pair but everything is generally shorts or skorts for the whole summer trip!

Spent 9 days in WDW in May.

I'd packed pants....didn't wear them once!!!

(The same goes for my sneakers.....I only wore my Tevas or flip-flops thruout the trip).

This will be my family's first summer trip. We are from New England. When we previously went to WDW in December and February, I never brought pants -would even wear shorts on the plane when departing in snow. My wife and kids, however, have a different circulatory system. They plan to wear pants on the plane to WDW as they sometimes get cold on the flight and also want to have them for sitdown restaurants (when going from hotel at night) and possibly HDDR, as they find the air conditioning to be too cold sometimes.

Thanks for all the replys!

Igbees- that is so funny, jeans are totally a security blanket for me too!

I think I am going to try and go without. If it gets bad, I'll just have to buy more right? ;)

There are no chilly evenings in WDW in July. When it is 87 at 11pm, you don't need pants.

I would definitely leave those pants at home. In 2005 we went in June and it was VERY warm. Even for formal dinners and such I would wear skirts or a dress.
