Panicking!!!

My wedding is in 12 days! I have been trying to get in touch w/ Rev. Jack for the past couple of weeks just to confirm everything. I finally got in touch w/ him today and he doesn't have me in his books!! And he has another wedding on my date and time He said he had a temp secretary for awhile and she screwed some things up. He told me not to worry and he'll figure something out for me today, but I cannot help it!! I cannot believe this is happening

You must be so upset! Try not to totally panic until you hear from Rev. Jack. I am sure that he will come up with a very suitable replacement. It's like some sort of a nightmare....you poor thing!! Please keep me posted, I know everything will be great, but for now, I know there's nothing we can say that will make you relax until you know you've got a minister! If worse comes to worse, I am a Florida notary - I'll drive up and marry you! Sending you huge hugs

Mary, that's so sweet of you! I may take you up on that offer. Rev. Jack was really sweet though and reassured me it would work out, but I cannot help panicking!! I booked him 13 months ago and this is what I get for being anal and organized

What marywdw said! I am sure this will all be sorted out - Rev. Day sounds like a wonderful man, and he will not let you down.

I would def suggest getting on the phone and calling some other revs yourself fromt the Disney list. I would call Kevin Knox here is his website http://www.abeautifulceremony.net/ I wouldn't wait for him to call you back... nothing he does will change the fact that he is booked at that time and not available. I would work on sorting the problem and if he has a better solution than great but at least you will have a back up for the moment. I have also heard good reviews of Rev Tim Herring and I would also let your wedding planner know about this ASAP. Pixie dust that it gets resolved quickly.

Thanks everyone! I really think I overreacted at first. He really was apologetic and is doing everything he can to help. He just called me again a few minutes ago to make sure I was OK and let me know again he is figuring something out. He told me he does have me down but for 5 pm, not 10 am. I have 10 am on my receipt so it really was just a mix-up. He does sound like a great man, and I guess these things just happen! I have faith in him that he is working something out

Reverend Tim Herring just married us, and he was fantastic. He stood in for Rev Jack as we had originally booked him. Try not to worry, and I would let Disney know in case they can assist.

Can I ask if Rev Tim did the ceremony like you wanted? He isn't replying much. It's kinda bugging me. I'm getting the "you are just the bride, feeling"

would that be something else if the person who marrys you ended up not having been ordained... therefore you wouldnt legally be married? haha... ive always wondered that. How does anyone really know unless they are there when it happened?

Don't worry Rev. Jack will figure something out. Similar happened to me. My ceremony was at 5PM and he had that down but not my rehearsal at 10AM the morning before. I even changed the original time for him and mailed him a letter with my ceremony and rehearsal time. When I called to confirm he had no information about the rehearsal He did not have another wedding, but had a Dr. appt. It all worked out and everything went beautifully. It will for you too!

Jen! you poor thing! Although, I'm sure he's going to work something out, it's a shocker when you first hear that.

I wouldn't worry too much though because if he really can't go, I'm sure he'll try to contact someone else to perform the ceremony for you. You'll be fine, you'll see!!!!

Everything is OK now! Apparently, the other couple he had at 10 am is actually getting married at 5 pm. So, they were in our time slot and we were in theirs! Everything is fine, phew! Rev. Jack was so sweet through this whole process and while I was freaking out, he really helped calm me down and made sure everything would be taken care of. I am so glad he is going to marry us though
