Panhandle vacation?

Hi all~

Because we budgeted so well on our Disney trip, we had some extra money. I found a great place on VRBO in Panama City for mid July.

What do you guys think the beach will be like that time of yearyear? This oil spill has me worried on many different levels.

We visit either Seagrove or Rosemary Beach in July. I'm nervous about the oil too. There are a lot of locals posting updates on the sowal.com forum. There will almost definitely be Junegrass in July. It kind of turns the color of the water a pea green.

I think it's pretty risky. You could ask the owner for a very lenient cancellation policy. I have a vacation booked ( not the 4 nights in my sig) on the Gulf in late July. I'm probably going to cancel next week and tell them we'll probably re-book a the the last minute if possible.

The Ixtoc, in 1979, spewed for 9 months. Until Deepwater Horizon stops gushing I'm going to be very careful about making plans.
