Please tell me about this activity. Wondering if you really see the wild animals and how long it usually takes. Thanks.

The trail is maybe a half mile long. A leisurely stroll may take 20-30 minutes. There are animals including (or at least used to) gorillas, hippos and my favorite, the okapi.

It can be busy since it is so near the safari.

It depends on whether or not you are interested in stopping to look at the animals, take pics, observe behaviour, talk to CMs. If not, you can rush through it in 5 minutes. For me it took last time between 20 - 25 minutes. And if you can see the animals, depends a bit on some them ;-) Meerkats and okapis were hiding when we walked by. But the gazelles were easy to see, so were the gorillas, naked molerats, birds.

I can tell you it was busy when the baby gorillas were playing in front of the observation window.

I agree with the others - the amount of time it takes can vary greatly from person to person. I'd budget at least 15 to 20 minutes of your time, perhaps more if you happen upon something like the baby gorillas playing (as shown above). Spend some time talking to the zookeepers, if they're around - they're a wealth of information!

You might have some trouble seeing a few of the animals, depending on where they're hanging out when you go by. But the zookeepers try to entice them into "viewable" areas by doing things iike putting out browse (aka food) whenever possible.

I enjoy taking the trails at a leisurely pace in roughly (30-60 minutes). It really is a nice relaxing way to enjoy the park.

We find it fascinating to wander through. While the Gorillas are, for us, a show stopper there are points of interest throughout. If people in your party prefer "thrill rides" it may have trouble keeping their attention, but if you enjoy trying to figure out what "that Big Silverback is thinking" while he stares at you, then it will be great fun. It is a must see for us.

We've spent as much as an hour there. It just depends :)

This is a walking trail at Animal Kingdom where you view animals such as gazelles, gorillas, and meerkats. It is one of my must dos each trip to AK. I would allocate about 30-40 minutes. You can rush through it very quickly or stop and take it all in. Your pace might be determined on what the animals are doing during your visit.

Thanks everyone ~ it's just DH and I for this next trip so I think this would a nice respite to just relax and stroll !!

I would encourage you to visit the trail more than once. And if you go thru and dont see the baby gorillas--GO BACK. I spent a very long time watching these little guys--soooooo cute!! Also the meerkats. Ask the CM's questions. You will find some know a lot and some need to move on.

Well, if you have your then five year old granddaughter with you (she's now 17 and we kid her about this all the time) and she goes up to one of the first enclosures and stares at something for a long time while the adults of the party are looking at the animals and deciding to move on but you can't move that young child, it can take a long time. What was she looking at? A common bunny rabbit because, "I play with those at Dad's all the time!"

The point is - don't "time" the trails at Animal Kingdom. Live them instead. Same granddaughter two years later saying another trail was "stupid" and then grabbing a bird guide and having her Grumpy Grandpa in her clutches and wanting every single bird pointed out to her.
