Pandora- World of Avatar 2017 Really?

Carsland? Sure fantasyland didn't not live up to the hype but it's Theming is good. IP lands are still relatively new we don't have a lot of them. And the ones we have are done pretty well.
BTW NFL gained MK 6% attendance bump

carsland, mystic manner, tron, pirates shanghai....shall i go on?

Good example, China, China, china...

See where I'm going with that?

look...we don't need to refight the Alamo here...

I concede that I'm hypercritical if you concede that there is a legitimate concern about Disney ability and/or committment to bring innovative, frontline attractions to Florida...cause it's been awhile...

Foul...

New fantasyland opened smack dab in the midst of an economic/travel boom.

I believe in coincidence when it cannot be explained...this one can.

And the park did gain "capacity" with that redevelopment...more space = less claustrophobia = higher repeat attendance.

And...the other 3 have been in decay...now 2 with animal kingdom getting some love.

Count me in "the far fewer care about camp."
I think we spent all of two hours at Animal Kingdom last week. Had to see the Lion King show and the wife wanted to do Bug's Life. I was really disappointed in Bug's Life; what happened to Hopper?

Did they take hopper out?

Shanghai has been successful so far...

Shanghai has been successful so far...

Is this thing on?

I covered that...what is it that we always (correctly) point out about imagineering?

That only in America have they had the burden of "going it alone" on costs and that has not given the rope they likely need because it's 100% Burbank accountants in charge.

Yes...that is a real
Issue.

Must have taken him out because he never appeared and they changed the show a bit where they showed a short movie and changed the Hopper narration to go with the movie. Been three years since I had seen the show, but the large animatronic Hopper was not in the show last week. I figured he must have had a significant breakdown for them to rewrite that portion of the show, thus, the comment about visiting the Yeti.

Innovation has been part of the Disney parks experience since 1955
Apparently the three years that imagineering existed before hands no longer count then :(

Shanghai has been successful so far...
I'm actually glad to hear this! First successful resort opening since Tokyo if all else ends well by the time they announce numbers. Now we don't have to face the wrath of "euro-Disney cancellation fever" because a new resort failed. I've mentioned it before I honestly think this is why imagineering was so single sighted on Shanghai and now it's seeming to prove for the better :)

If Shanghai would fail Disney would suffer. Domestic projects and more, the domestic parks have already suffered because of costs of Shanghai. I'm glad it hasn't gotten worse yet.

I get that the sense that 9
Outta 10 people who saw it can't remember a freaking thing about.

I remember loads about the movie! There was...uh...tall blue people. Then there was...like...a big bright tree. Those dragon things were pretty sweet. Don't forget the most awkward sex scene in any movie. And...of course...UNOBTAINIUM!

My teacher skipped over that part when we watched it in class (English right when the movie first came out on DVD after a standardized test before you ask). As hormonely charged 7th graders, there was much upsetness

Hey man, if interwoven dredlocks are your thing then more power to ya. I remember being a 7th grader too...it was not much better.

I only knew what happened because one kid at my lunch table told me that it was his favorite scene. There's other stories I have of him that can prove he was one of those people, but it's best not to list them on a Disney fan site :p

looks like its time for this thread to be closed
this is why we cant have nice things

As a scientist, my eyes rolled out of my head at that part. Worst name EVER. I hate the avatar movie, I can't watch it without cringing at most of it. That being said, I will be all over the new land and rides when it comes out. :crazy2:

Except unobtanium is an ACTUAL scientific term that well predates Avatar, as opposed to Vibranium or Adamantium which are just made up comic-book materials.
