I was wondering if anyone knew of a less expensive alternative to Pandora bracelets but which still sterling silver? I want to start one for my niece but she is rather young and I think that a less expensive alternative would do just as well.

Pandora in sterling can be economical....the bracelet is about $45 and the charms are around $25 each and go up from there. That being said other brands are Chamilia & Troll beads. My 7yo daughter has the pandora and is very responsible with it ~ not necessarily so with all her toys but she is good about her jewelry. Chamilia & Troll beads aren't necessarily much cheaper either ~ but you can mix & match SOME of those into the same bracelets. Chamilia has a disney line :thumbsup2

Judging from your signature, you are in NE and I live in MA do you know of any places that sell the pandora discounted or are they all fair traded?

Store wise you will rarely find them discounted ~ you may find some online (ebay). Once in awhile you will find sales such as spend x amount get the bracelet free which can be a good deal. You could buy a couple beads and get the bracelet free and then give them one by one.

I buy all my Morano glass beads in lots of 24-36 on ebay for dirt cheap vs. instores ~ price per bead in stores is around $45 while the lots on ebay for 24 run around $35 shipped....this added a lot of beads to my daughters collection cheap and gives her the fun of color coordinating her pieces with outfits. My daughter has the sterling silver necklace & bracelet so she can mix & match both pieces.

We bought our daughter a Troll beads bracelet. Very similar to Pandora and the best part is Pandora beads fit on Troll bracelets (but Troll beads don't fit on Pandora), so you get more to choose from. Prices seemed similar.

I have a Zable bracelet... it's from Littman Jewelers, Very similiar to pandora without the cost... I love it..

You can get the Pandora w/ the lobster claw clasp for $35. You usually have to ask for it because they always show the more expensive ones 1st.

Buy.com had some similar for Pandora or Biagi beads for $20.93. bought a couple for a friend she loves them

The beads are there too - cheaper.

QVC has a line similar to Pandora called Prerogatives. They claim that the Pandora and Prerogatives beads are interchangeable on bracelets from either line.

I have a Pandora with Pandora, Chamila and Biagi charms, it is full. Recently I decided I wanted a second one but didn't want that big of a costs so I bought a bracelet from Ebay for $4.99 it came out of China which made me leary, but heck I figured for that price I could not lose. I have been wearing it round the clock for 3 months without issue. I filled it with glass and sterling silver beads. I stuck with one supplier who was in Maryland and learned quickly that any of the beads with the rhinestones on them are not worth buying, the "stones" come right off. The glass beads are fine as are the sterling ones. I paid from $1-$6 for beads and filled the bracelet. I love my bracelets.

For the extra $10 I do like the "hidden" clasp look better for the continuous bracelet look.

DD 8 has Zable bracelet and beads from Littman. Plus a mix of expensive Pandora beads and less expensive silverplated beads from an eBay seller. She loves it.

Brighton also has beads and bracelets that are more reasonable.

Pandora also has a new leather/silver bracelet which is $25.00 and is perfect for younger girls. My DD12 got one for Christmas and loves it, of course, now she wants to borrow some of my beads so we just went to Brighton and she bought some of the $10 beads for her bracelet.

My younger cousin has a Bauble LuLu bracelet and beads. I don't think they're sterling - I see rhodium plated on some of these websites - but the beads are only $6.99, and they seem to be available a lot of places. My cousin's had hers a while and has no tarnish or anything like that.

I have the Chamilia and love it!

I know our local jewelry stores have alternatives. Did you know Disney Couture came out with one too? I'm excited about that!!!

I know the Disney Store had them for awhile, bummer I don't know what happened to them. Looks like they had them, then discounted them until gone. I wish they would keep up with it!
