Hi there! Could someone give me some in-site if its worth eating at tusker house before park open if wanting to go straight to Pandora? Ive been to Pandora once and did the cattle herding from the park gate. I think I remember them letting us in early but I don't recall exactly. I know that it is a hike from Tusker to Pandora but its kinda a long walk from the gate as well. What time have they been letting people into AK lately? Would it be better to just get there super early and try and be further up close and go straight there rather than eat breakfast first? What time do you recommend getting there if its a normal 9am park open day? Thanks!!!

The standard recommendation for rope drop seems to be plan to be at the gate 45-60minutes before Park open. And all the accounts I’ve read recently have said they are still letting people in early—I think as much as 30 minutes?

Assuming that you want to get your moneys worth at Tusker, it doesn’t seem like a quick meal to me. Sure, you could do a quick pass of the buffet and then dash, but you’ve paid for characters, etc., so I would plan on it taking too long to be helpful in getting ahead of the crowds.

We really liked doing Tusker late morning...breakfast pricing, caught the turnover into lunch so got both menus, and we’d done enough rides that we felt like relaxing a bit.

Pre Park Opening breakfast at AK is not a good strategy if your purpose is to get a ride on FoP without a fast pass. Last January I rode FoP on three mornings with no fastPass. I arrived 70 minutes before scheduled park opening. They let us in the park about 45 minutes before scheduled opening. They let us in to Pandora and opened both rides there 30 minutes before scheduled park opening. I was exiting FoP at scheduled park opening. The line for FoP was two hours long at that time. So eating PPO breakfast first does not work at AK the way it does at other parks.
