Does anyone know if pancake syrup is available to purchase at the trading posts at Ft Wilderness? Thanks! Also, if anyone knows of a list of grocery items for sale with current prices, I would really appreciate it.

I've not seen a price list of grocery items for the Fort. Suffice it to say, though, you will pay for the convenience. Most prices seem to run 2.0-2.5x what they are at home here for me.

Perhaps someone headed to the Fort soon can check the shelves and let us hear something back? When are you going to be there, Julylady?

Bama Ed

PS - one of my favorite camping breakfasts is pancakes with mini chocolate chips made on a coleman stove with round sausage patties and strawberry flavored syrup. :woohoo:

PPS - in my last trip report or two I had pictures of some of the grocery items and their prices. A small spray can of Cheese Wiz was $8 and a 6-pack of Budweiser 12 oz cans was $15.

They had waffles & syrup Oct 2014. DH paid a hefty price for them when he decided the cereal & oatmeal I had brought wasn't enough for him.;)

Schnikies!!! Don't tell my husband! He'll cancel the trip!!!

Good thing we're arriving a day early (DH is going hang-towing at Wallaby Ranch so we're staying there). Looks like I'll be doing a major grocery shop that day!

Yes, can't remember what it was, but trust me, it wasn't near your 'normal' grocery store price! (plus they were small bottles)

Couldn't tell you current list prices for any of the items - just was browsing for curiosity, and had 'sticker' shock!

Oh, no, bama ed, is that the Disney kid coming out of you?? :)

That picture gives me indigestion!! I love chocolate, and love my strawberry freezer jam, but won't be mixing the two with my pancakes!

Now, pecan pancakes with maple syrup - bring them on!! ;)

Can't speak for syrup, but earlier this week I paid more for 8 oz of mayo than I do for a quart (and that from our pricey, local grocery) back at home.

We fly in and don't have a car so we use www.gardengrocer.com . We have had good service and fair prices for the service and we have found that Disney's prices are a little higher than Garden Grocer.

I can tell none of you are from New England or Canada. Never in a million years would I not bring MAPLE Syrup if I were planning on having pancakes or waffles. That pancake syrup is just high fructose corn syrup, coloring and preservatives.

Now, if I had my bottle of pure maple syrup with me, I might be willing to pay an exorbitant price for some Bisquick :rotfl2:

(Btw, I'm a Bostonian born and bred transplant to to South)

Some people fly in and have to get their supplies upon arrival.

Ah. That's when you need to sell your home and move to within driving distance to WDW. Just so you can bring your pure maple syrup with you. Of course being within a day's drive to WDW doesn't hurt, either :thumbsup2
