Gimme your best :) I am craving pancakes this morning.

I don't make pancakes from scratch. I either use bisquick or Aunt Jemima's whole wheat mix. But, when I do make pancakes, I throw either some banana's, blueberries, or chocolate chips into them. The whole wheat mix is great with banana's and nuts.

Those little yellow Bisquik plastic jars work the best for us! Just add 1 cup cold water, shake and pour, and walah!!! PANCAKES!

They are light and fluffy and taste great! :thumbsup2

Lol, you guys were no help this morning.

I realized I didn't have any eggs and to make pancakes from scratch I would need eggs. Thanks :lmao:

With this recipe you could make either waffles or panckes.

2 Cups Bisquick
1/4 Cup oil
1 egg
1 small bottle club soda (I don't know the # of ounces of the bottles, but they come in six-packs)

Mix together and make your pancakes.

These are so light an fluffy, especially if you make waffles.

I buy the premade boxed ones. They are pretty good. Hope you are feeling OK this morning. :thumbsup2

Oh haha.
Yes I am feeling ok this morning.

I found a small ziplock bag with enough pancake batter for 2 small pancakes. Craving gone, although I felt like more than 2 pancakes.

These are GREAT! I just made them this morning, so light and fluffy!

Good Old Fashion pancakes!

INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon white sugar
1 1/4 cups milk
1 egg
3 tablespoons butter, melted
DIRECTIONS:
In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, egg and melted butter; mix until smooth.
Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot.

My favorite pancakes are Bisquick. A few weeks ago I was out of mix and decided to try them from scratch since many people here were talking about them. Never again! Ugh, they were awful. I had to add stuff to the batter just to make it palatable. I will never not use Bisquick. That stuff is awesome!

I use the recipe above except I use reg or chocolate soy milk. When making the chocolate version I use some Hershey's Cocoa powder. You can also use less baking powder I use 1 teaspoon only.

Wheat germ is good sprinkled in reg batter or Cinnamon. Add extra eggs if you have a child who does not eat good.

I make more pancakes then I care too. Almost everyday.

We enjoyed Chocolate Chocolate Chip pancakes this morning from the Trader Joe's baking mix!!

I only use Bisquick for pancakes and waffles. I put a lot more milk in the pancake recipe though because we like them thinner. I tried making them from scatch once and they turned out awful.

Would you like to borrow my husband?? :teeth: He makes the pancakes in our house. :thumbsup2
He makes everything in your house. I want a husband like yours. :confused3

I happen to love Aunt Jemima buttermilk pancakes. :confused3

SillyMe, you win my vote for best pancakes. I totally agree with you on AJC- Buttermilk. And you have to add Mrs. Butterworth's syrup.

I use Bisquick, but I usually add a bit of vanilla extract, and some cinnamon. Sometimes I add blueberries or chocolate chips for the kids. I'm not a big pancake person myself no matter how you make them, but everyone else in my family loves them!

Absolutely!! Mrs. Butterworth's syrup is the best! The best way to make them is to melt a little butter in the pan first. I like them when the outer edge gets just a little crispy. :thumbsup2

Oh, yeah, a little bit of melted butter in the pan to fry up that pancake. And then real butter or Land O Lakes Sweet Creamery Spread. Oh, yeah. You and me!! :woohoo:

An old fashioned recipe for the best pancakes I've ever eaten:

Buttermilk pancakes

2 cups flour
2 TB sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt

2 eggs
2 cups buttermilk
2 TB oil

Mix dry, add liquid, mix until just mixed- there may be some lumps, bake on griddle. Makes about 16 or so.
