I didn't think you were trying to start anything, you think DL is better, that's fine, but it sounded as though you were miffed because someone was bypassing it to go to MK WDW instead.

Personally, they have quite a few of the same attractions so I do think it is a fair assessment to compare the two...Heck, I would be glad if everyone went to DL, then I could have the "World" to myself!

No I was not miffed that someone was bypassing. Like I said, it sounded like they said it was the same, so just do it at WDW instead. But here is something you are not taking into account. Even though both parks have the same attractions, no two are the same. Like for instance Pirates. Way better ride here that at WDW. Now Splash on the other hand I like better at WDW. I like Buzz better here only because the guns are hand held and not stuck to the cars. Just a few examples. Oh and of course We have the one and only Matterhorn.

Interesting..

I personally find each Disney resort, unique and different, This year I am doing Paris and California, next year back to WDW. I enjoy moving around each of them.

Disneyland CL the original, and it has that feel, lots of great rides, WDW Larger, thats good/bad, more parks, more rides, but more transport to get around. Paris has some nice rides there as well.

Hotels I have enjoyed Grand Californian and will stay at Disneyland hotel this year, but I also love Polynesian and the Contemporary.

Both also have a lot near by Universalx2, seaworldx2, hollywood, Islands of adventure.

Negatives, I do not like Disney Californian adventure Park, but its being redeveloped, pity I miss out on that this year, or the crowds at MK in the summer and the humidity.

This is an interesting discussion. I'm excited to be going to Disneyland for the first time! Like you guys said, there are pros and cons to each resort. I'm looking forward to checking out all of those things that make Disneyland and DCA unique. And I'm also looking forward to seeing my all-time favorite parade, The Main Street Electrical Parade, even if it's not on Main St.

If you would like any tips on Disneyland/DCA from someone who goes there almost weekly, please let me know.

There are rumors that it will be coming back to Main Street in 2009. Not permanently though, just while the construction in DCA is in full swing. Any chance you want to come back out???

I totally agree. I would hate for someone to bypass DL just because they've been to WDW and think it will be the same. Its very different, even down to details within rides that in are both parks. In fact, rides that are in all 5 parks (CA, FL, Tokyo, Paris, Hong Kong) are slightly different at each one.

We are also looking forward to our first visit to DL!!!:cool1: We've been to WDW over a dozen times as a family and are ready to see how they're alike and different.

It's interesting how personally people take the comparison of DL and WDW, and in my opinion they are very different. DL is a classic and having grown up in Arizona we made a yearly summer vacation trip to DL, and it wasn't until I was 32 that I finally got to WDW. My first impression of the Magic Kingdom at WDW was that it was a watered down version of DL, and it missed the classic elegance of the big "It's a Small World" ride. Also, Space Mountain was very different, I don't know if it's changed since I was there in 2004 or not.

What I'm trying to say is if you have a chance to see the original DL you really shouldn't pass it up. While I love WDW and all of the other parks in Florida I think that any Disney fan should really see the original DL at least once!

Same here.

I have been to WDW a lot of times. However, I wanted to spend a few days at DL before the EB repo cruise.

I'm really looking forward to seeing "what started it all." :)

I don't want to get involved in this little issue, but I do have a question for everyone...

We have been to DL 3 times and we absolutely love California Adventure Park. We run over to the Pier area and do California Screaming several times in a row, then we do the other rides there. Then we run around in the Redwood area for the little ones. We love Soarin and TOT and Animation area. The California music they play in the entry makes me smile when I hear it. We just love that park so much. My kids consist of 3 teens, a 10yo and a 3yo. We will be spending alot of time there before our Cruise! The little kid ride area is unique and fun for our little one.

We like that is isn't as crowded and the tortilla factory is a different experience. I don't know, we really like spending time there!

So, what do or don't y'all like about it? Please...remember, this is a nice friendly question and I am curious. I like every different opinion and I am happy to learn. SO BE NICE!

Another thing...

Anyplace Disney is a place I want to be!!! DL or WDW, bring it! :)

I think the people that have never been there will really enjoy themselves.

It is wonderful to see the place that started it all and experience the differences. It is a fun challenge to compare rides and which is better or different at each park. Just enjoy yourself everyone! :)

Is today the one month mark for going through the Canal for the westbounders? Tomorrow is 4 months for us Eastbounders to board the Magic...:cool1:

I'm learning to like DCA more and more. I prefer a Disney park to be more Disney and DCA didn't have much at first. It's gotten more and more and with the new changes coming it will have an even more Diseny-esque feel to it.

I've always liked the rides there. It's just not a park that I can spend a whole day at. Plus, being a native Californian, a park dedicated to all the highlights of CA didn't appeal to me much. I've been to all the real places that are represented in the park.

Good point, I have heard that DL attracts many more locals and like you, they may not be interested in that themeing...

I am also a fan of DCA -- on many occasions I have spent a full day over there.

I can't wait for all the changes that are coming over the next year!

Do you know what time in UK for us to Panama Canal? I told my friend to look out for us on Web.

They asked me what times? I have no clue?

Do anybody know what time now at Panama Canal?

Need to work out the times as my friend will watch it on web.

Well I treat DCA as part of Disneyland. I can never spend more that about two hours there. I think the TOT is a waist of time at DCA. I only say this because I have been on the one in FL and that thing is like 100 times better than the DCA one. There are to many transplanted attractions in DCA like muppet vision and it is tough to be a bug. The Pier is so Anti Walt. Walt never want Carnival games or anything like that in his parks so I am not a big fan of that area at all. I am looking forward to the new Toy Story Midway Mania ride though. Over all DCA gets the grade of the worst of the six Disney parks in North America. Now after they spend the 1.5 Billion (by the way that is 500,000,000 more than the park cost build orginaly) I tgink it will one of the best parks in the world, but as of right now they have a long way to go.
