Panama City Beach

Has anyone been to Panama City Beach recently and if so.... how is the ocean and beach area?

If you are referring to the oil spill, there was something on CBS (I think) News this morning about Panama City Beach....how there is no oil there but people are cancelling vacations right and left.

For now, that storm has actually pulled the heavy oil back....
But, yes, it is there.... Day to day, hour to hour situation. Some folks have reported becoming sick.

Also, if you were wanting to head down to the area, there are MUCH better destinations that PCB.

I live in Panama City, over the bridge from Panama City Beach. The area referred to in the Yahoo story is actually Pensacola Beach, about 100 miles west of Panama City Beach.

Right now we don't have any oil but some tar balls have washed ashore. If you want the latest information as far as oil in our area, you can go to www.wjhg.com or www.wmbb.com. They should have the latest information for our area.

Unfortunately people are cancelling vacations to the area because they think oil has reached our area.

We were just at Panama City Beach last Saturday and it was beautiful. No oil in sight. We had a perfect day. I would post a picture but I haven't uploaded any yet.
