I just relized today that it seems I'm having conflicting plans.

We are booked on the Western Repo cruise departing on May 14, 2005.

But Star Wars Episode III is scheduled to be released at 12:01 am on May 19th while we're at sea nearing the Panama Canal. :earseek:

I just can't decide if I should keep the Repo reservation or just ask for my deposit back and head to the midnight showing of Star Wars?

Which will you be able to buy on DVD 6 mos afterwards?

'nough said.

I suppose it's too much to hope that the Disney-Lucasfilm relationship is close enough that Lucasfilm would allow Ep. III to be "Premiered" on the Magic...

Oh well, I guess I can wait an extra 10 days, and focus on one rare experience at a time.

(I only waited in line for about 10 hours for tickets to see Ep. I at the newly renovated Seattle Cinerama theater, but having aged an additional 6 years since then, I don't know that I would be up to it this time.)

It's not the same at home on DVD. Trust me on this one, Hubby and I did Triology Tuesday last year, and while we are doing another Trilogy Tuesday tomorrow at his boss's house on a big screen TV and stereo sound, it's not the same....

That's actually the reason why we didn't book. Hubby is a HUGE Star Wars
freak and there's no way he's not seeing it at 12:01 am the day it comes out!!
He's even buying a Storm Trooper suit of armour for it

This is the last SW George is doing and the experience of seeing it on the big screen with hundreds of other SW geeks is just not worth missing for us.
The electricity in the theatre was unreal when we saw Episode I, I can't even imagine what it's going to be like for EIII!

We we're thinking of doing the Aug Repo, but by the time we figured it out, the prices were ridiculous!!!

Oh well, another time maybe!

Being a Star Wars geek myself this was a very hard decision. Me and DH have been to all the midnight showings but after discussing it we decided to go ahead with the cruise. We are still holding out hope that DCL will show it...a girl can dream.

Since I doubt DCL will be playing it onboard ... plan on seeing it when you reach CA ... you'll dock in San Pedro the morning of the 28th, I'm sure you'll have no problem whatsoever in finding SWIII in a theater that day. :)

And for Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy fans ... it'll be in theaters around May 6, 2005. :teeth:

AND Hitchhikers is a Buena Vista movie, so it should be on the ship!!!
