Panama Canal Eastbound Sept. 14, 2013--it'll be WONDER-ful

I'll call and check it out - did they charge cork fees?

When we had our "special event" at sessions they did not charge a corkage but we all pitched in a couple dollars to tip the 2 cast members who were there helping us.

I just got a notice from our TA at Small World that their is an IGT rate announced. I assume the others will be out as well.:confused3 As soon as my husband gets home from choir practice, guess what we're talking about!:cool1:

Isn't it strange that they have it out before the PIFD I am seriously considering this but we really want VGT

The ship is still not very full. I'm with you on not wanting an inside room for two weeks. I'm sure they will open up other levels - hopefully before final payment is due!

:rotfl2: I couldn't wait - I decided to go ahead with the IGTY - worst case I would think we could upgrade at the port unless the ship really fills up between now and then. SO - our cabin number will change and we will need to relink our 2nd seating dining - the great news is I saved around $2k making the move and then moving my OBC and discount to the B2B CC cruise we are taking in 2014 -so double win! There were just too many things we could do with the savings!

Also I asked about getting a space reserved for wine tasting on our cruise - bottom line is if we reserve it early they will charge us for the spot - if we talk to them once we get on the ship we can probably get it for free - today I'm all about saving money! Why don't we plan it for Deck 7 and then move it to inside if space is available.

Are many folks on here probably going IGTY or looking to get an upgrade at the port? If so, maybe we can have a sheet at our meet where we can get the updated information on everyone for F/E groups and Wine Tasting groups etc. - that way if we get a location in the ship I can send out a text on the wave phone.

It looks like everyone I have heard feedback from likes the idea of a meet on our day at sea after we leave LA - I'm thinking around 10 AM? That way it is not too early and folks will probably have brunch at PALO that day so they will be done in time for that.

Congrats on the savings. I am too much of a control freak with our room and DH preferring a verandah and us liking mid-ship and so forth and so on.

I can have a sheet ready for changes no problem. And having Deck 7 as a primary will be fine. The only thing on the old navigators that I would be interested in that first morning is the Captain Puckett thing if they have that at the same time might run me a little late. That will be a wait and see, but I don't see a problem with that time or close to it.

Let me know if you want me to take care of the dining change. I will be glad to do it.

Hope everyone has had a good week. We are in the process of getting some of our land ready for our DS and DDiL to move a house down here by us.

I'm gonna wait it out for Veranda or VGT. I'm thinking by Monday or Tuesday should be near to pd in full date.

It was a hard decision to let go and roll the dice - as my DH put it, but then we started thinking of what we could do with the savings so it got easier!

I'll send you our new res# to get us linked back in to the group - THANKS!

Because people will ask about Bingo.

Normally I let "little kids" & other folks in wheelchairs pet him. But when its a ship Full of kids i don't let anyone.

He works for the "petting" that i give him. If i let everyone pet him, He wont work for me. (sorry)

I'm a trainer of Service dogs.

For FE "gifts" Toys are always good lol. He cant have "food" of any type. (his tummy)

Bingo is an Australian Labradoodle.

But i know a Dog that you can pet. I have a photo of me petting him. :-)

I have a 2 yr old Goldendoodle and taking her would be like a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. Definitely not service dog material. Maybe I'll seek some trips from the pro... I know this is a question everyone wants to know so I'll ask. Where does the poor guy go to the bathroom? If you say he uses the bathroom in your room I'm gonna crack up. :)

On WBPC they didn't release the room numbers until around 2-3 weeks before the cruise. Everybody was getting antsy. I did notice that if you were linked they put your rooms together as much as possible. Lots of people in verandas were mid deck 6 and 7.

We would want to go the talk with Capt Puckett also.:)

We're saving about $1500 with the IGT. So, our room number will be different too. Also hoping for an upgrade at port or that military rates come out.pixiedust:

I think you cannot change the IGT to the military deal. It is no refunds or changes after you pay.

One (or more) steps closer! We are now paid in full, we have transporation from LAX to Grand Californian (night before the cruise) and just booked Disney transfers from Grand Californian to Port of LA !!:cheer2:

I wasn't able to get a clear answer from the castmember about the transportation from GC to port - she said that when we check into the hotel they will "tell us the time frame to be in the lobby" for pick up. Does anyone know if we are assigned a specific time or is do we just go to the lobby and get on any bus going between 9:30 and mid-afternoon? (Those are the hours she indicated the shuttles run.)

Does anyone know how late the parks will be open on Friday, Sept 13? I'm finding mixed info. We don't arrive to LA until 11:00 a.m. and may consider going to a park(s) depending on how late they are open.

It's a long summer-activity filled few months and I hate to wish it away but I am getting very excited about this trip!

We didn't get charged anything that I am aware of since it was a private event. This was back in 2005, so who knows if they have changed their policies.

Cruise is paid in full!!!! Now onto booking Palo etc, next week!

I am all for having the wine meet on deck 7 and moving it inside if there is space.

10 AM for the DIS meet sounds good to me.

Well that's exciting that you can book Palo/Excursions next week! We have to wait until 6/1. After you've done all your booking, would you mind if we asked you some questions about some of the excursion times that we may be looking into? :flower3:
