Panama Canal - Anyone Else Waiting Eagerly?

We've been patiently (okay, maybe not so patiently) for DCL to announce the second half of 2017 because we've decided we want to do the Panama Canal cruise. Anyone else waiting?

I would love to do the Panama Canal, but I wasn't impressed with the port stops for the DCL itinerary the last time I checked (admittedly 2 years ago). I'll look forward to hearing how you enjoy your trip!

I'm interested in PC as well, but I might end up doing it in 2018 as teen who is graduating in 2017, wants a land based outdoor/camping trip as a grad gift. I'll check prices however, and may book - we'll see!

Were have the PC in mind as well for 2017.
But.. our first cruise is Alaska this year so guess we better see if we actually like cruising before making more plans!

We are waiting.....not so patiently. It hate having to wait so long to book my vacation. I do agree that the ports for the Panama Canal cruise could be better. I saw several other cruise lines different ports maybe this year Disney will too.

I'm waiting eagerly since this is one of top cruises I want to do. I've already given my TA the okay to book it once it's released since it's possible I'll be on a cruise (my first non-Disney cruise) when the remaining 2017 itinerary is released.

Yes the Panama Canal has weak ports now. I'm going in May because of the price. Back in 08 Had some good ports. Castaway cay, Aruba. Acalpolco
Was weak but it was a differnt port.

Big reason I booked the PC Repo is all the sea days. Very few ports truly interest me. I'm a couch potato. Sit me in a lounge chair with a book and an adult beverage. Bliss!

Well I'm glad to see I'm not the only one waiting quite impatiently. It's annoying that the first half of 2017 was announced last year and yet here we sit waiting for the balance. I've given our TA all the information to just book us -- hopefully May, but I just want to know it's a done deal. Who knows, Disney could change their mind and not go back to PC -- that's usually what happens with us when we decide ahead of time we want to do a certain cruise.

But doesn't that mean they would have to quit doing Alaska? Isn't that how they get the ship to the western side of the states?

I believe the only ship that fits now is the Wonder, since the Magic got her duck tail....but I could be wrong.

This is true, and with the wonder getting her dry dock soon, who knows what the plans will be.....

But seriously we are planning this as our honeymoon, I can't wait to get it locked in..... Please post soon..... I'm anxiously awaiting

I do wish the ports were better, but im not under the impression Mazatlan is better than Puerta Vallarta, but anything is better than Cabo (IMO) , we were not impressed.....

I've heard that they won't make the changes to the Wonder until after the work is complete on the Canal, since it's the only ship that fits.
