DH absolutely LOVED Pan seared tuna! I've seen it a few places on the menus but wondering if there is anyplace that's better than another. I should also note....I am NOT a huge seafood/fish fan so I'd probably want an option of steak or at least a non-seafood dish! Would Coral Reef be the best option or what would you recommend?

THANKS!

as far as i know thats not on coral reefs menu I believe that Chefs De France has Seared Tuna and i know alot of places have seared Salmon and such but for seafood Artistpoint and Flying Fish are good...but atmosphere Coral Reef rocks id double check at AllEars i didnt see pan seared tuna on the coral reef menu :(

I think Brown Derby had the pan seared tuna.

Coral Reef's menu says "Pan Seared Ahi Tuna" . Is Ahi Tuna different? (Trust me, I'm not an expert at seafood! haha)

I think we'll skip Brown Derby b/c I'm afraid we won't enjoy it as much with the little ones being so young. (2 1/2 and 4 when we go) But I'm HOPING that Coral Reef is more entertaining since they can see the fishies while we eat.

I love pan seared ahi tuna. It's more of a sushi grade tuna I believe (there are 2 versions of ahi tuna, one of which is yellowfin). They usually use this to pan sear, as the inside of the tuna steak will be raw.

not 100% what you asked for but the Yellowfin Tuna Tartare starter at Flying Fish was yummy!

THAT is exactly how DH loves it! THANKS!

Jiko now has pan seared tuna as a dinner (used to just be an appetizer), plus steak and chicken for those who don't like fish.

I've had tuna at Coral Reef, FF, and Brown Derby. I enjoyed the tuna at Brown Derby and FF much more than the tuna at Coral Reef.

Kona Cafe at the Poly has an entree called Tuna Oscar (served with fried green tomatoes, tempura-fried jumbo lump crab, and wasabi hollandaise). I have not tried this yet, but I saw pictures of it on the food porn thread. It looks amazing. Seared on the outside, still pink in the middle. I can't wait to try it next week!

I have heard many bad reviews of Coral Reef lately. I haven't dined there, so I can't speak on it. But someone said it should be re-named "Coral Refund".
I thought this was quite funny!
