Pampered Chef Cut N Seal

We also just bought a krustbuster a few weeks ago and love it. I make up a bunch of pbj's and freeze them. I went to bed bath and beyond but they didn't carry it in the store so the lady ordered it for me and it had free shipping to my house. I had a 20% off coupon and it was 8.49 total. I don't think it takes off any more bread than necessary with the bread I've tried it with.

Wow why have I never thought of making these up and freezing them. Duh! I've had a cut 'n seal for a long time. Going to make a bunch to freeze right now. I'll keep this idea in mind when I run across good bread sales. :thumbsup2

I made a bunch yesterday and froze them for school lunches - very simple. I just put them individually in ziploc containers in the freezer - just take one out in the morning and makes for a quick way to pack lunches. I haven't made cheese/turkey or ham because I didn't think they'd thaw well between morning and lunchtime. My kiddos said the pbj sandwiches weren't frozen, just a bit cold.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I need help! I got a cut and seal today and tried to use it with 2 different kinds of bread and it didn't work on either one. One side is fine but the side that faces inside the cut and seal is ripped in the middle. It seals the sandwich but pb&j is squeezing out the middle..what am I doing wrong??

Try not putting as much pb & j on the bread. I put the pb in a circular "blob" on the bread, then another circular "blob" of jelly on top.

I just use a big iced tea type glass to cut pb&j, and it seals the edges too. My husband thought I was a genius.

I had one of these a couple of years ago from pampered chef and my sandwiches always got stuck. I ended up throwing it away. I guess everyone else has good luck with it... no idea what I was doing wrong..:confused3:confused3:confused3

Don't feel bad I have the same problem. I ended up having to cut around the metal to get the crust off. I'm thinking of trying the krustbuster.

I bought this one instead:

My kids love it and we have several sandwiches in the freezer ready to grab and go.

I have this one too! Bought it at State fair last year. The kids LOVE it!! This one also makes little shaped indents (hearts, stars, smiley face) that the kids love as well. The shapes are a little suction cup type thing that are interchangeable.

I seen a lot of ppl really like this and with school just one week away i KNOW my daughter will want uncrustables but they are so expensive that I thought it might be worth buying this..online it's $9 and then $6.25 for anything up to $19.99....is it worth $15 or can anyone recommend another cheaper item that I could add to make spending that much in shipping worth it? I never buy anything off the internet and I have searched high and low in all different stores for something like this but the only thing they have is the things that remove just the crusts...Or is there any kind of discount codes (i realize this is highly unlikely)???? thanks so much!

I just ordered it from a dem my Mom went to last week. Whenever I buy Pampered Chef stuff I always get one of the sets of the little paring knives (they are about $4.25 or something).

You're not the only one - I used it once and found it completely worthless.

We can't get those shapes to do well with anything other than white bread. And even on white bread it doesn't show much after freezing and thawing.

Can you get the shapes to show up on a harder bread, like whole wheat?

I haven't tried whole wheat. My kids won't touch that, I've tried several times but they remind me that is mommy's bread, not theirs. :lmao:

I haven't had any problems having them show up in white bread, but I also haven't tried freezing them.

i ended up finding a product that's made by Wonder, the ppl who make the bread, and it does the same job and pretty decent for only $2, sometimes we have to pull a little bread off but it gets the job done...we haven't frozen any yet but we just use it every day and it's holding up so far...we did buy an extra just in case lol

I see. Yeah, I have one child who doesn't care for whole wheat, but he is also my child with a weight problem that just started about a year ago.

They don't get a choice anymore!

love the pampered chef uncrustable maker.. definitely worth the money. good idea to freeze them thanks

For those interested in freezing......

I read somewhere on the internet.....will try to find it later......make an entire loaf of PB&J sandwiches (or whatever) and put them on a cookie sheet. Place them in the freezer until frozen and THEN take them out and put them in ing. zip lock bags and freeze until needed.

I have frozen them up to a month and they are fine. I would think they would be fine for a few months.

I also have a gallon size zip lock that I put the crusts in and when I have enough I make a large crock pot of bread pudding with carmel sauce and it lasts several days for desserts!
