I am confused. I knew we pay the extra 5.00 per person (or was it 10.00?) to have dinner at palo. but we tip extra too? I am confused as I thought we just tip for the week not per night?

The servers at Palo are not in the regular dining rooms, so they do not get the "regular" tips. We definitely tip them a lot more than the $5.00 per person cover charge. :) They deserve it.

We tipped as if we were in a restaraunt of similar quality and were paying for the meal.

For a party of 2, what is the typical tip for Palo? Not counting the $10 fee(for 2) to eat there for dinner or the ($20 for brunch), what should we have tipped? Also brunch....what is the norm? I am hopeful we didn't under "additional gratuity" tip.

Is it cash at the end of your meal? Signed on your KTTW card/ How much would you give for dinner for two?

We signed for it on the card. They will give you a paper like you get when ever you sign for something and there is a spot for a tip. We gave Erika 20.00 for brunch and for dinner. She was excellent!!!

When I make the reservations they charge me the 5.00 per person fee and then when I leave they give me a slip for the tip. Or is this slip for the cost of our drinks and it has a line to add in the tip. ('cause it seems tacky to hand me a peice of paper asking for a tip) Do they automatically add in the 15 percent tip for the drinks in palo? If so I guess 20.00 in addition seems reasonable for dinner for two for the tip, if not I would want to add more for bringing the drinks too.

You have to sign the slip to authorize the $5 per person charge. If you ordered drinks, they would be on the slip also. At the bottow is an additional gratuity line in which you can add more if you wish.

The tip can be added to the slip they bring at the end of your dinner with the charges for any drinks you may have had & the $5. We added $25 (figured a $125 dinner @ 20%). I don't remember if the 15% was automatically added.
lUVTOGO, we also had Erika at Palo and she was great!

You can also leave the tip as cash, as we did. We just handed our Palo server cash and thanked him very much. That way I knew it was going directly to him.

we also left a $25.00 tip we had Salvatore on our last cruise he was awesome was worth every penny

I innocently thought the $5 per person charge was the tip!! I tipped more than that but now I am not sure if I gave our server enough. We had Dragan and he was excellant!! What is the $5 per person charge for?
