Palo's $5 or $10

Is Palo's $5 or $10? I have been ready posts lately and everyone is saying $10. When I was on the Wonder in Oct., it was $5. Did they increase it?

Brunch is $10 I believe.

I think that I saw where it is going to be changing sometime soon but not sure when. There was a post where people were concerned that cruisers would think the server received the entire fee & wouldn't leave an additional tip beyond the $20 each couple would be charged.

After reading Is Palo $5 or $10? It made me think, after all the DCL cruises we have been on we have never been to Palo and I have no idea on how they charge, I know there is an extra charge but is it per person? or per table charge? I am assuming it is per person? Could somebody clarify this for me please. Thanks. Kathy

$5 for dinner.

$10 for brunch, but a glass of champagne is included. They <b><i>may</i></b> knock that fee down to $5 if you are not a champagne drinker.

I just came off the 1/15/04 sailing .. and it was $10.00 per person in Palo for dinner . rather than $5.00 per person..

That was true through the end of 2003.

Regina (dvcreg) posted that the dinner charge was going up to $10 at the beginning of this year. As I recall, she had been told that the server gratuity charge would still be $5, and the additional $5 would be "reinvested" in Palo. Several of use questioned the surprising use of the term "reinvested."

When I called DCL regarding another matter, I asked if Palo is now $10. I was told, yes. I asked if it all goes to the server team as gratuities. Again, I was told yes. If it's true that it goes to the servers, I don't mind; but if the extra $5 is just DCL adding a bit of profit, then I'm disappointed -- especially if it means that guests in Palo end up leaving less for the servers.
