We are going on the 3 day cruise on April 2004. I had hoped that me and DH could sit with our DS for dinner, and do Palo for the last seating. My question is what time is the last seating? If we do this, will we miss any of the showas?

Palo books more like a standard restaurant - 15 minute blocks vice two "seatings". If you have the early seating in the other restaurants, you should be able to eat with your son, eat at Palo, and make the 8:30 show, but only if he's an efficient eater and if you're quick, too! We enjoyed spending a bit more time at Palo. Have you considered a room service dinner for your son that night while you get ready for dinner at Palo?

I'm taking my 10 year old son and his girlfriend on the 7 day western cruise on the 13th of this month. I hear Palo is wonderful, but should I bother booking it for just myself? It seems like a nice romantic place and not one for a single guy. Any thoughts?

If you are a single, I think you can opt to dine at the bar if you would be more comfortable with that. Otherwise, I see no reason why you shouldn't dine alone. The servers are very friendly and will make sure you have a good experience. Alternately, you might be able to link up with some other cruisers, either here or on board, and go to Palo with them. We have done that in the past and had a great time. I know that Palo is a romantic option for many couples, but hubby and I eat dinner together every day at home, so we enjoy meeting other people when cruising.
