I am trying to determine if I want to make reservations at Palo. Since dinner is done on a rotational basis I don't want to miss out on Animator's Palate but think I would like to try Palo also. How do I get the best of both worlds?????

Marry your best friend...

But as far as dining onboard ship, why not make reservations for brunch at Palo?

Well if it is a 7 day cruise u will be dining in each dining room at least twice... so schedule it for later in the week ...

They do not do the show at Anamators Palate
the second time u dine there.......

I'm guessing you are going on the 3-day cruise, otherwise, you could just skip a repeating restaurant. If this is the case, brunch isn't an option. Be sure to check out Barb and Tony's site castawayclub.com They have all the menus posted and an overwhelming amount of DCL experience and advice.

We would have gladly skipped Tritons for Palo, but we have small children who couldn't go to the club. It all depends on your taste. We thought the AP show was overrated, but really enjoyed the menu. PC was our favorite for atmosphere and menu, but there are plenty of people on this board who will heartily disagree.

There is also the double-dip option, if you have the early seating. Eat lightly at your regular rotation restaurant and then have a late dinner at Palo.

Good luck with your planning. I hope you have a great cruise!:D

BD, you have me laughing out loud here!

We looked through the menus and decided we'd try and skip the first Parrot Cay seating for Palo, and it worked out that we did get the day and time we wanted.

We did it early in the week and I'm glad we did, at that point we already missed dining with our "regulars" that night. Some of our tablemates had a Friday Palo seating and said although the food was excellent, they missed their regular dining companions and wished they had bailed on Palo and ate with us instead, and we missed them too! We lucked out and had wonderful tablemates and the most fun and attentive waitstaff.

The food in Palo is very, very good, don't get me wrong, but I think I could eat cardboard, if it was eaten in good company. ;)

We agreed that if we had been assigned to a table full of grumpies then we would have wished we could dine in peace in Palo every night!

Check your ticket when you board so you'll see when your first Animator's Pallet seating is so you don't miss it when you go to make Palo reservations.

Actually BD I'm not ashamed to say...........I did marry my cousin! lol We are only cousins by marriage. No blood relation. But it's the best thing that ever happened to me. You know how we southerners are. We like to keep it in the family. :wave2:

I have to admit that in three Disney cruises, with a fourth coming up, I have not ever felt the need to eat at Palo. I really enjoy our rotational dining and if we don't have time for that, it is more relaxing to grab something and head back to the veranda.

We planned out the three different rotations and picked the nights we would be at Parrot Cay to book for Palo. As we find PC a tad bit loud ( music etc. ), this is how we chose which night to book for. Its worth going, if only for the dessert!!:D

If you're on a 7-day cruise, book Palo for brunch if you're too torn about forfeiting one of your rotational meals.

I've never done Palo evening before (we were having to much fun w/our rotation dining), but the brunch was wonderful!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I would not miss Palos. The food is fantastic to say the least. We went in the evening, I've never been to the brunch. We plan on going 3 times on our upcoming cruise and I can't wait for my 3 desserts:Pinkbounc
we plan to skip Parrot Cay to eat at Palos. I personally did not like the menu choices.
