Palo vs. Remy

We are both open to most food. My husband more than I since I am vegetarian. We both like trying new things plus it is our Anniversary is two days before we cruise so it will be our present to each other :)

To me, the first thing to consider is what type of cuisine you'll enjoy more. For my wife and I, we really enjoy Italian and are not so big on French. Based on that, we always pick Palo for brunch and dinner. If you don't have a preference, then (leaving price out of the question) the reviews on Remy would probably tilt the decision that direction.

We go on our 6th cruise tomorrow, have visited Palo for brunch and dinner on each one, and have always enjoyed it thoroughly. As long as you know what you like, you should have a great time no matter what you choose to do.

I didn't find the menu to be very "French."
And Palo isn't what you stereotypically think of as Italian, at least not for dinner. Brunch appears a bit more Italian cliche.
The dinner menu at Remy is actually divided by creations by 2 chefs -- 1 American and 1 French. The "French" dishes have French names and French influences, but you're not eating a big plate of frog legs and snails. Both the "French" and "American" dishes are high end modern presentations. (For example.. I think they still serve an Amuse Bouche (pre-appetizer) of a small fried Tomato soup cube. It's a tiny Fried breading cube, filled with hot tomato soup on the inside.

IMHO.... Remy is a celebratory big deal dinner, so perhaps a better way to celebrate your Anniversary. Palo is very very good, but not as much of a "special occasion" place. I also think a Vegetarian might find the offerings at Remy a bit more interesting. At Palo, I suspect you would be stuck with pasta.

True. I should have more correctly said "French Inspired".

I really enjoy both Palo brunch and dinner. I find it to be very elegant, but not too fancy. We will be on the Fantasy in August, and although I thought about doing Remy, I decided against it as I think the food will be too fancy for me and I have no desire to pack for the required dress code. I'm sure it's very good, but I just don't think its for us...to each their own!

That sounds just like me! We ate at Palo last year and loved it. This year I was really considering Remy but now I am second guessing because it sounds too fancy for me. :)

I decided to try PALO for our Anniversary celebration dinner, it sounds a tad less fancy, and also the price tag is a little more easy to swallow! The experience at the restaurant sounds just as special, so I think we will enjoy it and it will be a nice evening out!

I would do Remy for dinner. I prefer Remy dinner over the champagne brunch but the other half prefers Palo (dinner). Palo brunch was a bit meh for him, I thought it was OK.

I think it depends how much of a foodie you are too and how you eat "on land" as to what you would prefer.
