I cruise alone with my children (hubby is not the 'out on the ocean blue' type) so I have missed out on Palo in the past. I figured that would be the case for all future cruises... never being able to enjoy Palo and being "tortured" by rave reviews of the food and such. I am wondering if anyone goes to Palo alone for brunch or tea? I wouldn't go in the evening, but I would sure like to be able to try that buffet (I just saw some photos of it on the trip report board). Is Palo only for couples? Would an adult alone feel out of place? Do groups of adults go together or is it strictly a couples thing? As you can see, short of digging up someone on the ship to accompany me, I WANT TO GO TO PALO, darn it! LOL ;)

I did Palo on my own for Brunch, Tea, and Dinner. I had my journal to write in, in case I felt too...alone. I had fun, and the waitstaff are great! I say go for it.

Although I have family, I love to dine alone on occassion! I haven't been to Palos, but I've been to other restaurants alone. If it's not too fancy, I bring a newspaper to read. If it's a little more upscale, I just bring a book (I can't see spreading out a newspaper at Palos, but I do that at Uno's) :p
If you want to go to Palos Solo... then go for it & enjoy!!!

Hello dee47 and ennazus,

Your responses make me feel a whole lot better about doing Palo solo. Thank you so very much!

:p

So if I have it reserved for DH & I and DH at the last minute decides he doesnt want to go I can still go?

I've done the High Tea solo it was fun. I did talk to the people sitting around me. I didn't feel alone at all.

Tinkerbelle check on the board here to see if there is a group forming on your sailing dates. You may meet other who would love to have company while dining in Palo. We're cruising again Oct. 26 and I have asked other cruisers to join us for brunch at Palo. The more the merrier.

I did the brunch solo and did not feel out of place at all. My waitress kept me very busy and I had a wonderful table right by the window to look out. Go for it, you'll be glad that you did.
