I honestly don't get why our culture has developed such a resistance to dress clothes. Sure, when I'm at the theme parks, I'm in shorts and tennis shoes. But I don't get what's so incredibly horrible about putting on a sport coat or a dress that it's worth all the headaches over trying to figure out what you can get by with. On the podcast yesterday, Pete mentioned that if you were going to dine at Victoria and Albert's you need to wear "your Sunday best." But I honestly wonder how many people even own what used to be considered "your Sunday best" any more.
But, then again, I'm a weirdo when it comes to clothes. I wear a suit to work every day and don't find it particularly uncomfortable -- though I am ready to lose the tie at the end of the day for sure. OTOH, I don't own a pair of jeans, because I find them to be horribly uncomfortable. I'd much rather be in a nice pair of khakis when I'm dressing "casual." So go figure.
