Palo - Realistically how much?

The easiest way to tell if a gratuity is automatically added is to look at your bill before signing it - it will clearly state the portion that is gratuity, if there is. Unless something has recently changed, Palo does not include gratuity in the meal charge, so I would definitely suggest being prepared to tip, and the total amount to be above $30 pp. if this changed, that will be a nice surprise, but I would likely still give something above that anyhow.

Can't wait - doing Palo twice in September! A brunch with DH on his birthday, and then a "girls night" just me and my MIL for supper a few nights later. It's her first Disney cruise - I hope they serve her the chocolate soufflé the same "creative" way they did for me my first time lol (won't give it away in case there are first timers reading this, but if there are...just trust me and order it )

Thank you Peggy. Are you saying to tip $60 for a couple? Ibhave Palo and Remy bookes and once onboard having concierge book the other two nights again in those restaurants. I want to pay he gratutity in cash so this would be helpful.

You are being misled. I don't care how other people tip but you asked a straight forward question and were given answers of what people thought you should do rather than the facts. The charges for Palo and Remy DO include a gratuity built in. That is why on the DCL website under gratuities it says "at your discretion" rather than a suggested dollar amount like it does for the dining room servers.

Unfortunately DCL won't say how much of the the $30 goes to the servers so you can make a fair judgment of how much additional tip (if any) you would like to leave.

Tipping $30 per person? Do you really think that the meal, without beverages, is a $150-$200 per person meal. That is what you are saying with a $30 per person tip. From what I have read and seen, Palo is close to a $75-$100 per person type meal. Remy would be closer to justifying a $30 per person tip.

Woah no no not tipping of $30! $30 is the meal, be prepared to pay more than $30 (as in yes you should tip, whatever tip you want to give on top of the z$30 charge) sorry if it sounded like $30 pp just for the tip! That's a tad extravagant!

We don't order extra cocktails at brunch typically so its just the dining fee and tip. You'll see wide variety on here on what people tip if anything. I generally double the dining fee because the service is exceptional and they deserve it. So with the current fee being $30, I'd pay $60 per person ($30 fee, $30 tip).

i understand the one poster did NOT mean $30 tip, but the one just above me did. that is 100% tip?!

V&A's prix fix menu runs 150.00 per person with no wine pairings or tax so if you would tip based on that pricing, you might feel like the tip would be based on the meal's value rather than the price you are paying DCL for the meal. Based on that logic, a 20% tip on a meal valued at 150.00 per person at Remy would be $30.00 pp.

Just like when i used a gift card or discount at a restaurant, I tip on the full value of the meal................not the discounted price after a coupon or gift card is applied.

That being said, tipping is optional and will continue to be a controversial item on this board. I have heard people tip as much as 30-35 pp and I have heard of people that haven't tipped at all.

We will be Platinum on our next cruise in February. Can you use the free Palo's for dinner OR brunch? The CClub site seems to say just dinner.

Yes, you can use it for either meal - at least that's been our experience on the Magic, Dream and Fantasy. Haven't been on the Wonder since making Platinum so I can't confirm that.

I think it would help to wait and see what you think. I've heard all kinds of ranges for the value of the meal. I do not think the brunch is a $100 meal. There is a similar brunch here that is $40/pp. I like the DCL brunch, but I didn't think the value was that great. My servers have just been ehhh there too.
