Palo - Realistically how much?

Yes still charged, its called a corkage fee but really its a serving and allowing you to drink from it fee.

The corkage fee is not a fee for the physical act of opening the bottle...it is a service charge for bringing in your own bottle (and not purchasing from them). Many land based restaurants do the same.

Ahh, I remember the good old days when Palo was only $10 pp. That was a deal!!!

We were just on magic in norway. Price had gone up to 30 in Palo. But because we are platinum we get it for free.

We will be Platinum on our next cruise in February. Can you use the free Palo's for dinner OR brunch? The CClub site seems to say just dinner.

We decided to do a palo brunch and am wondering how much this will really cost. I've recently read postings with dinners costing $300, $400 at Remy, and am now concerned that perhaps Palo brunch is not in our budget if our tab will be similiar to Remy.

So, please share your experiences and if you please cost so I can make the right decision.

We spent $40 per person on brunch plus a few extra mimosas. $25 on the meal and $15 tip per person

My understanding from reading here is that either dinner or brunch could be used.

They will offer you some items of additional cost, but the only cost is 30$ pp plus tip. I tip 20%generally because that is standard where I come from. If you purchase alcohol, the prices will be listed. They are very upfront with costs- you will have no surprises.

That's what I thought. $30 per person plus gratuity already added. In fact on other boards I remember reading to watch out for already added gratuities. So confusing, lol!!!!

Technically, yes the gratuity is included in the $30. But considering the level of food/service that you get at Palo, even if the the server gets most of the $30, it still may be an adequate tip. People tip in addition because they realize a comparable meal at a comparable restaurant would cost you significantly more. That being said, you are not required to tip above the $30.

On my first dcl trip I had no idea that the few alcoholic drinks I purchased at dinner ALREADY had gratuity added so I added gratuity like I would at a normal restaurant. I felt cheated when I came home and found out.

The $30 is considered a service charge. The staff will generally always be right on top of your needs and/or requests.

I don't see why a few extra dollars as an actual tip could hurt.

They didn't do that on the Magic last week. They just walked us around and told us about the food and then left us on our own with the exception of the hot entrees.

No. The $30 charge does not include an 18% gratuity.

The easiest way to tell if a gratuity is automatically added is to look at your bill before signing it - it will clearly state the portion that is gratuity, if there is. Unless something has recently changed, Palo does not include gratuity in the meal charge, so I would definitely suggest being prepared to tip, and the total amount to be above $30 pp. if this changed, that will be a nice surprise, but I would likely still give something above that anyhow.

Can't wait - doing Palo twice in September! A brunch with DH on his birthday, and then a "girls night" just me and my MIL for supper a few nights later. It's her first Disney cruise - I hope they serve her the chocolate soufflé the same "creative" way they did for me my first time lol (won't give it away in case there are first timers reading this, but if there are...just trust me and order it )
